    "Perfectly average"
Room was usual premier inn fare but lovely view over the castle. Bathroom could do with a lick of paint as it’s peeling, the extractor fan didn’t work and the toilet seat was loose. Wouldn’t normally comment on these things but at £500 for three nights I’d expect these to be fine.
    "Great experience"
Lovely location, great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Enjoyed exploring the city from the central location of the hotel.
"More Premier Out than Premier Inn"
This area of Edinburgh at the time of writing ,15/08/25, is a bit of a building site ,a number of buildings around are being refurbished. Access by roads is not possible and parking if needed is a problem. However the location is brilliant fairly central to the shops and restaurants, but a fair walk to the royal mile and castle etc. It's not the first time we have stayed in Premier Inns or in Edinburgh, but it definitely isn't the best .The Hotel looks a bit worse for wear throughout , IT NEEDS A CLEAN UP !!!!. Staff were pleasant , but rushed around because there isn't enough of them. One major issue was we heard staff laughing about some customers that had earlier made a legitimate complaint ( we heard the customers complain appropriately), this was incredibly unprofessional. The breakfast was ok , with plenty of food to choose from, not the best but adequate. The room was ok , the bed very comfortable as expected. Edinburgh as usual , didn't disappoint ,but this Hotel didn't make the grade unfortunately. I will use Premier Inn again but possibly not this one and two nights for two people for £660 is not a cheap hotel. Not the best value for money in my book. More Premier Out than Premier Inn.
    "Poor experience"
We had two rooms. Aircon in one room reported as not working, was not fixed during the 3 night stay. Hairdryer overheated and stopped working. Waited 20 mins to get staff attention, as the poor man was working on his own and covering bar and reception. He said he’d bring a new hairdryer up but we all know it was the same one as it over heated again. Rooms not serviced, towels not replaced. Only 2 t-bags for 2 people x 3 nights. Staff were friendly but overworked as not enough staff. They were doing 2 or 3 peoples work while trying to remain calm. Reception area untidy. Finger prints all over everything. Mirror in bathroom had little doodle on mirror when steamy. Charging 4 times as much for Edinburgh fringe and providing lower standard than expected from a premier inn. So disappointed.
"Good hot breakfast, staff working hard"
A very good stay. Staff are obviously working very hard to overcome any recent bad reviews. One staff member Charmaine (I asked her name) working very hard indeed to multitask. Unusually for Premier Inn chain there WAS enough bath towels (3) in the room (could do with two hand towels if two persons in a twin though please!) Something going on before the hot food counter regarding poached eggs - chef under immense pressure due to number of covers I imagine. My breakfast was delicious hot and speedy. Premier Inn now charging extra for early arrival which inevitably then leaves a long check in queue at 3 pm at every Premier Inn you go to but that’s a brand/chain problem not the fault of the staff here. They were dealing with check in very efficiently as fast as being human will allow! The check in kiosks weren’t working, that would have halved the queue.
