Edinburgh City Centre (Waverley) hotel

Stayed here recently and had a generally decent experience, but a few things could be improved. The room itself was clean and well presented, with all the usual amenities you’d expect, so no complaints there. It did the job and was comfortable enough for our stay. Staff were okay—polite and helpful when approached—but overall service felt a bit passive. A bit more attentiveness would have made a difference to the experience. One thing that stood out (not in a good way) was the housekeeping approach. Rooms aren’t serviced unless you specifically request it, which is fine in principle, but the process felt overly rigid. When we asked for clean towels, they were provided, but the used ones weren’t taken away. Having to spell out every single detail of what you want done feels unnecessary and led to a slightly frustrating experience. Overall, a clean and reliable place to stay, but the service and housekeeping setup could definitely be improved.

What a fantastic place to stay . Central to Princes Street and all the eateries and bars. The breakfast was fantastic and the service better than some 4 star hotels. Would stay again next time we visit. special thanks to Helen who was professional courteous and lovely. Stayed in lots of expensive hotels in Edinburgh but this one has come out on top. It also had the best bed pillows and shower . 10/10

Staying overnight when taking in a concert at the Playhouse,we were checked in by a very pleasant young man on reception,he took the trouble to check our room was ready for us,every thing in our room was was clean & seviceable,we had breakfast in the morning & was greeted by Helen who explained how the breakfast system worked,nothing was to much trouble,she had a very welcoming manner which goes along way to make our stay pleasant,all the staff at breakfast were very good,the breakfast buffet was presented excellently,the facility for leaving baggage in secure storage was a great service enabling us to explore Edinburgh prior to getting our train home,in summary our stay could not have been better,a big thank you to all the staff at this Premier inn,we will definitely be back,many thanks,Colin & Liz.

This was a return stay for me. The location is perfect if travelling by train and is conveniently situated to access the sites of Edinburgh. The rooms are comfortable and if not disturbed by other guests in the middle of the night then a good night’s sleep is guaranteed. Be sure to book the excellent breakfast.

Excellent location. Excellent staff. A special mention to chef Krzysztof for the food and Duty Manager Andy for excellent service with a smile.
