Edinburgh City Centre (Waverley) hotel

Visited Edinburgh with my wife for a James Taylor concert this month, July. Stayed in the Premier Inn in the centre, just a short walk from the venue. Staff at the Premier Inn, especially Frazer were very helpful in directions and local pubs to get food before 5pm as concert doors opened at 6-30pm. Room was very clean, quiet, spacious and had a great view of the Castle and surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent and Helen was very helpful with certain deity requirements we had. I would definitely be returning to this Premier Inn. Thank you to Frazer and his Staff.

We stayed at the hotel from 17/07 to 19/07 and paid over £500 for our stay. Unfortunately, I don't feel it was worth the price, especially considering the overall experience. We booked the accessible wet room, which is located on the opposite side of the hotel, making it quite a long walk. The room itself was excellent—spacious, clean, and well presented. The wet room was also very clean, although the extraction fan could do with a thorough vacuum as it was quite dusty. There were, however, several issues that affected our stay. It was disappointing that the room couldn't accommodate a sofa bed. I was travelling with my daughter, and although the super king bed was large, sharing a bed wasn't ideal. Unfortunately, the fitted sheet didn't fit the mattress properly and repeatedly came loose during the night, wrapping around us while we slept. The mattress was also much softer than expected and felt quite worn, which isn't the standard I've come to expect from Premier Inn. I reported the bedding and mattress concerns to reception the following morning. I was told they would carry out a check, but when we returned later that day, no one had provided any feedback or update. As we were staying in an accessible room, I was also surprised that there were no suitable facilities for disposing of adult incontinence pads, only the small bathroom bin. I raised this with reception and was told extra disposal bags would be left in the room. Unfortunately, when we returned, no bags had been provided. On a positive note, we had dinner in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The Kitchen Manager was incredibly friendly and entertaining, making the experience memorable. We both ordered the steak, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Overall, while the room itself was clean and spacious and the restaurant experience was excellent, the issues with the bed, the lack of follow-up from reception, and the shortcomings in the accessible facilities meant the stay didn't represent good value for the price we paid.

We were very happy with our stay here - clean, great staff and excellent value for money. They stored our bags while we went on a 3 day tour. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Attentive staff & good food, terrific location, clean comfortable rooms, & great value for money!!! Even being so centrally located zero noise!

Nice hotel, great location, and a great breakfast with Michael making some hreat food in the kitchen as well as Helen serving us and helping with everything. Recommend this place.
