"Great stay in Edinburgh Premier Inn"
Brilliant location, 5 minutes walk from train station. Easy access to all sights and transport links. Staff at the hotel are all brilliant and very helpful with any need or requirement that you may have. It is a family hotel with a breakfast and dinner menu fit for all. If any special requirements you can speak direct to the chefs or the waiting staff. The family room we had was an exceptional size with plenty of space on the top floor. There was no noise from other rooms or from the street outside. The only downside was that the room was a bit tired and in need of a little TLC but that was outweighed by the space in the room and the view over Edinburgh from the window. Overall it was a fantastic stay at this hotel and will return without second thoughts.
"Great location, basic rooms with peeling furniture"
First time staying at a Premier Inn and we picked this due to the location, being close to Waverley station and the Royal Mile. Location was excellent. We arrived very early and no one was on reception but we found a staff member in the restaurant who thankfully let us stow our luggage until check in. The room was a decent size for a family of 3 and the room was basic (no fridge), the furniture though was peeling, the desk had a large strip of laminate falling off it. The bathroom was clean and the shower had decent pressure, although the whole room steamed up after a short shower. There wasn't alot of toilet roll left in the room for our two night stay but we did manage to get some when we seen a staff member cleaning another room on our floor. Found the prices quite high, per Australian standards anyway, but it was one of the cheaper options we found in Edinburgh and it provided us with a good base for a couple of days in the city.
"Dont stay here"
Would never stay here again. Mold on walls, dirty floor and bathroom, peeling furniture and more. Staff said they would not clean the room since it was late and there were no other rooms available. Offered a free breakfast but we refused due to cleanliness concerns.
"Great location"
This hotel is in a great location, close to station and the Royal Mile. The staff were all friendly, but they do seem stretched. There is no reception as such, just check in points, sometimes staffed, sometimes not. Breakfast was ok, but it is pricey I think - particularly for continental. Again, saw people waiting to be seated for a long time due to the lack of staff around. Room was fine, etc and it was really quiet. It did feel expensive though - 227 for a night - maybe they put prices up depending on what's on - we were there for University open day.
"Good affordable place to stay in Edinburgh"
Close to Waverly Station for rail connections (10 minute walk). Close to Royal Mile ( 5 minute walk) and good pubs and restaurants. Check-in is unusual - the electronic checkins weren't operating and there was no one behind the desk - I went into the adjoining restaurant/bar and asked the bartender to check me in; that worked. The room was clean and neat but we had to ask for bog paper as there was none and there was one (only) towel and we had to ask for another. The resataurant and bar adjoing is only adequate - recommend eating out. The water pressure in the bathrooms is good and the shower heads are very good but the tub is so narrow it's hard to stand and turn around in them; my spouse mentioned that the tubs are so high they're difficult ti enter and exit. The rooms and the entire building are quiet and a person can get a really good night's sleep.
