"First port of call for good value accommodation"
The Hotel was great. Very pricey, but Edinburgh is the most expensive Capital City in Europe for "3 day breaks". Without exception all the Staff were courteous and helpful. Everywhere was spotless. We didn't need or use Room Service but I'm sure that would have been great. Good A/C. We asked for a Superior Room with the "best view" and got Room 415. Spectacular view of the Castle, but through small windows, and very well equipped with great walk in shower Premier Inn is owned by Whitbread plc. IF you own shares (whether directly or though a share dealing service) AND your booking is "full price", then get a Whitbread "Shareholder" card and use it for substantial savings on food and drink. The attached Restaurant is pricy but very good. Edinburgh has a great Public Transport network, and the Hotel is on a huge number of Bus Routes. Just plan ahead! If you come into Waverly Station AND you have mobility problems (I'm 80 and need a stick) then you shouldn't walk to the Hotel. Remember, Edinburgh is a very hilly City!
"Excellent location"
This hotel has amongst the best location in Edinburgh. It’s right across the Waverley station and if you are lucky you get a room with a view. You get a view of old Edinburgh city and everything in the city is within 20 min walk. It’s not a fancy hotel but you get clean room and decent English breakfast.
"Beautiful location and large room ruined with a disgusting bathroom."
Attention to basic maintenance and cleanliness needs to be addressed. The room was large and was great for a family of four. We checked in very late, almost 1:00 AM, since we were in so late and only there two nights I did not want to try and get a new room. The bathroom ceiling has visible black mold throughout, absolutely unacceptable for any establishment. The management should be embarrassed and ashamed. That being said, the view of Edinburgh castle was beautiful, and the location was perfect.
"Not Premier Inn"
Not worth the extortionate price paid. We booked a double room, for a 3 night stay in Edinburgh. We got a basic room lacking features which were to be expected. No drinking water in the room on arrival. No shampoo/conditioner. 6 hangars in a tiny open "wardrobe". One chair and a tiny table in the room. Toilet paper dispenser looked like it should be in a public WC.
"Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price"
Upon check-in, we found the room in an unacceptable condition. There were food crumbs on the carpet, and the service table still had a used table salt container left behind by a previous guest. We were only provided with one hand towel for two people, and the curtains were nearly falling off the rail. For the amount paid—£590 for 2 nights and 3 days—I expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, the overall experience was far below expectations, and the stay did not reflect value for money. Very disappointing for what’s considered a premium price.
