    "Disappointed with Premier inn Lauriston"
I booked the basic room though i understand that there's little to none amenities, I was so disappointed with the lack of willingness to help and when i asked to clean my room before leaving for a friend's wedding that too was not done, i have known premier inn to be one of the best specially because i have tried other places premier inn and i was never this disappointed.

Not the nicest Premier Inn. The room could've done with a refurb. I didn't want to take my shoes off because the carpet was so grubby. The bathroom was covered in what appeared to be bits of the horrible grey cloth used to clean it. The bed was clean and comfy, so I mostly sat there. The wi-fi was slow and the connection kept dropping. My room overlooked the courtyard and I was woken up early every morning by people coming to work and then the smell of frying food would flood the room. The location is good, but I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

Very clean and modern, a typical chain hotel with no surprises. The breakfast was good, staff was friendly. One odd thing was the tub. The basin floor was very high off of the ground and had a sharp angle on the side with the wall handle, so it would be dangerous for someone with limited mobility. But a good option for a budget room very close to the castle and old city center.
    "Ticks all boxes"
Prices of hotel rooms in Edinburgh seem to have rocketed in the last few years, Premier Inn was chosen as it was much more affordable, and we’re hardly in the room as always go for an evening out and then up early sightseeing the next day. Our room was clean, spacious, had an extra single bed in, air con worked on what was the hottest day of the year and we heard no noise so we slept soundly. Bed and pillows very comfy. Breakfast was extra and it was quite nice, good selection, buffet style help yourself and they didn’t run out of anything, and seemed to be refilling regularly. Friendly staff kept us right about local buses. Only downside is expensive on street parking but they can offer a stay in a nearby NCP for £17 but we’d already paid for on street parking. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if the price is right again on my next trip.
    "Awful Premier Inn"
I’ve stayed in many Premier Inns in different locations and this is the worst I’ve ever stayed in. My daughter took me to a concert at the castle and paid for accommodation too, choosing this hotel as it was close to the castle. We arrived at 4.20pm and were told the allocated room wasn’t ready so we were given an alternative room, 306. The room was smelly and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. The toilet seat in the bathroom didn’t seem clean so I sprayed hand sanitiser on it. The sink was clean, but the bottle with handwash was filthy. The bath had hairs on it, all round the plug hole there was something that looked caustic powder round it, behind the taps was really dirty and the floor behind the door was covered in hardened dust and the rest of the floor didn’t look very clean. The floor behind the door had not been cleaned in a long time. The curtains had holes in them, the window sill between the sliding door and window was filthy. There was black tape presumably covering a hole in the ceiling near the bathroom. The remote control was greasy and the hair dryer was rubbish. The skirting boards in the room and bathroom were dirty. The only positive was the bed linen was clean. The first and last time I would stay there.
