Thurso hotel

Usual standardised Premier Inn rooms. Unusually have their own restaurant which serves evening meals as well as breakfast. Biggest problem is a busy road right outside the windows at the rear of the building (the rooms facing the station may be quiter). There seem to be a lot of hatchback petrolheads with illegal loud exhausts in Thurso who seem to like driving around until the early hours. Had to wear earplugs to get some sleep. Rooms and windows need more insulation from exterior noise (which of course is one of the many exclusions from the Good Night's Sleep guarantee, advertising gimmick with so many 'get outs' in the T & Cs, its not worth the paper it's written on).

Good room, comfy and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly- we arrived in the early hours of the morning after unexpected delays and staff got us checked in very quickly- which was much appreciated. All very good

We enjoyed an overnight stay here recently. Arriving on a Sunday afternoon, we couldn't find anywhere open in the town for a coffee so headed to the hotel but we're dismayed to find the restaurant also closed and we were too early to check in. However the member of staff on the desk allowed us to have tea and coffee in the bar area until we could check in which was very kind. We found our room to be clean and very comfortable and we had breakfast the next morning and found the food selection great and good value. We would happily stay again if we were in the area.

Location excellent for railway station. Had the meal deal with our stay and it was great for us. All of the staff were very professional and curtious. No one stood out because they were all excellent.

The hotel is average, but the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. I was quite shocked by her behaviour and I have never been treated so badly in my life.
