"Good Premier Inn"

Stayed over one night. Friendly welcome and staff all polite. The room was spotless and nice and warm. We had dinner in the on site restaurant and it was tasty and well cooked. Would stay again if in the area.

"Premier Inns are not what they once were"

We have always chosen Premier Inns over other brands and have spent hundreds of nights in them over the decades. However, our experience at the Premier Inn in Thurso was very disappointing. There was no one at Reception when we arrived and neither of the automatic check-ins were functioning. The fixed windows in the bedrooms are a nightmare and we slept poorly because the room was so stuffy. It would have been impossible to sleep with the air-conditioning on because it was so noisy and the rooms appear to have no passive ventilation. Me and my husband both work in Construction and were concerned by the distance the room was from the emergency exits. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was chaotic. There were too few staff and the design of the restaurant as a cafe-bar meant that the few staff who were there had to keep moving chairs and shuffling tables about to accommodate different party sizes. Some of the restaurant furniture was in very poor condition. I thought at first that the chairs had been artfully distressed but then realised they were just scruffy. The staff did their best but this is a poorly designed space for serving breakfast at weekends - guests and staff kept crashing into each other, there was no 'flow' around the restaurant. Premier Inns used to be a byword for clean, comfortable, well-equipped rooms, friendly staff and great breakfasts. The increasingly poor design of the hotels, reliance on badly maintained technology and chronic understaffing mean we won't use them again. Other places now offer better value.

Went for breakfast this morning. Couldn't fault anything , floor staff and kitchen staff were very polite an helpful, couldnt do enough to help an check everything was ok. Will be back again

We went for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious, 10/10 service , service is always so good I go here most weekends! The breakfast chef Emma is always so happy to help& great food from her! Brilliant service all together
