Inverness West hotel

It transpires that the Aircon temperature is fixed and you cannot turn it down at night and it turns off altogether during the night. 19 degrees is too hot for a bedroom at night! We paid extra for a comfortable room with working Aircon. On all three nights we slept really badly and were very uncomfortable. There was not a window that could be opened and the room was very stuffy. I dread to think what it will be like in the summer! Having researched the legalities of this, I am told that you are breaking the trades descriptions act. Customers are not getting what they have paid for as described on your website/booking information. The whole point of air-conditioning is that guests can alter it to make the room comfortable for their own needs it should not be overridden by the hotel/company for what is most probably a cost cutting exercise. Dinner staff were great. Breakfast staff were grumpy and and looked as if they couldn’t wait to go back to bed. We arrived at breakfast just after 9 o’clock. There was no cutlery on the tables and the table to which we were first directed hadn’t been cleaned. The scrambled egg looked like it had been there all night. We had to ask for more sausage hashbrowns, bacon, etc as the trays were all empty. We were told it would be five minutes so we went to get a drink and then returned to find that the blinds were down and there still wasn’t any fresh food available and so we had to ask again and wait a bit longer. We frequently travel to Inverness and would like to use this hotel again as it is convenient. However, the Aircon needs to be working to make it comfortable and breakfast staff need to do better.

I’ve stayed at premier inns a number of times without issue. However when I arrived here I was tired and just wanted to shower and sleep so grabbed an extra pillow and slept. It wasn’t till the morning when I noticed the stains and hairs. I hadn’t eaten or drink anything and I’m blonde so these definitely weren’t mine. The thought that I’d been sleeping in someone what’s detritus made me feel physically sick. It could be that the guests just put them back in the bag stained but surely housekeeping should check?

What has happened to this Premier Inn? It has gone seriously downhill in the last couple of years. Rooms smell of damp, corridors and lifts were grimy and the bar/restaurant definitely needed a good clean. As for trying to get an evening meal..... we were told our best bet would be to use Uber Eats and get food delivered! We didn't event attempt breakfast the next morning. The staff seemed to be very unhappy in their jobs. Very disappointing and not what you would expect from a Premier Inn.

We had booked two rooms for the family, on requesting room service, no cleaning service was provided for all four days, which was very upsetting. At last I had to collect some clean towels from the reception for the last day.

Very unhelpful at reception on arrival. Room was smelling of damp. Shower room had damaged fixings. Breakfast items were pretty much non existent and almost impossible to find a clean table to eat at. Nice from the outside, sadly pretty drab inside. Stayed years ago and it was great but it’s fairly gone down hill.
