"The worst hotel I have ever ever stayed in! AVOID"
The worst hotel I have ever ever stayed in!! We stay in many premier inns as our autistic children are used to the consistency that premier inns usually presents. Simple but clean hotels with restaurants attached. Fort William was not this! The rooms were beyond unclean, mould on walls , flaking paintwork, massively cracked wood work and filthy walls. The beds were mouldy and the sheets ripped! The bathroom sealant was black with mold. See images. We requested to move rooms but were told there weren’t any we could move into. We had no choice but to stay as our children couldn’t cope with the upheaval or a different chain of hotels. The restaurant was open 5.30- 8.30 for food the first night but ONLY to those who had a meal deal of which we didn’t, the next night we were told we couldn’t book a table all night and the third night the restaurant was closed completely for food as they had no staff! Breakfast was open the first day and was very average. Second day no hot breakfast at all as no staff!! Just continental! Beyond shocking!! Staff were in very short supply but those that were there were as helpful as they could be in terms of kindness but unable to change our appalling stay! Avoid like the plague!! attached was unable to serve any food
"DISGUSTING BATHROOM AND TERRIBLE RESTAURANT- do not stay here!"
The worst place ive ever stayed at. We booked for x2 over night stays on the way to and from the Outer Hebrides. Bed, breakfast and eve meal on a meal deal. It cost £437 for the 2 nights!!! Room was hot, couldn't sleep, no way of controlling the heat. The bathroom was filthy (see attached photos) mould everywhere, disgusting filthy bath, brown stained loo bowl, scorch marks on the desk back. Whole place was shabby and needs a total over hawl. The restaurant next door is grossly understaffed. The 2 poor overwhelmed front of house staff did their very best, they had to meet and greet, serve, cover the bar, take orders, clear tables. It took an hour and a half to get our main, and we had our dessert made by the bar saff chap as the chef was overwhelmed with mains orders! Anyway the chef coulnt cope that night and we were informed he threw his teddy in the corner that night leaving folk with no evening meal the next day! Second return stay they ran out of pizza, and chicken leaving very little choice. Coffee machine not working, hardly any pastries. Dreadful experience, if it wasn't for the poor staff (who were delightful) the place would fold. GET A GRIP HEAD OFFICE, THIS PLACE IS NOT UP TO NORMAL PREMIER INN STANDARD.....NB we stayed at the Carlisle Premier inn on the way up and back before and after the Fort William and it was great!?
"Overall good stay"
Positives - Only 5 mins away from the train station, just across the Morrisons car park and again, only 5 mins away from the underpass, leading to the main towns shops & food outlets. Room was clean & comfy & very quiet with a lovely view of Cowshill and the mountains. All staff really friendly & helpful. Breakfast tasty & plentiful. Negatives - Not enough staff in the restaurant to serve customers & clear tables. Hotel in serious need of refurbishment. Carpets in corridors not clean & paintwork peeling on skirtings. Bathroom door in our room wouldn't shut as handle broken. Overall would stay here again but really needs refurbishment and to take on more staff.
"Premier Inn"
Typical Premier Inn; cosy, comfy, spacious & clean room. You pay for what you get and you know what you're getting. It's situated in a great lcoation for the shops & the train station; I would definitely recommend a stay for value & convenience.
"Okay - could be better breakfast was hard work"
This was stop 2 on our weekend trip. The Fort William premier is well situated for the railway station and has its own restaurant for premier inn only guests. Room as you’d expect, tidy a tad warm but with a fan. Ate in the restaurant at night - you need a reservation book it at reception. Again as my previous post not enough staff for tea or breakfast. Breakfast was a shambles, one/two at the most on the restaurant floor, tables stacking up with plates, the buffet was slow and unable to keep up with demand, I waited 40 minutes to get a decent breakfast and still it was the dregs. Again not the fault of the staff at all. Just not enough of them. Come on Whitbread you turned over nearly three billion British pounds in 2023/24 get some more staff and make the stay more pleasant like it used to be.
