"Restaurant closed at 8pm!"
I arrived at the Hotel at 9pm after a long drive from Glasgow. I was tired and hungry. I was informed that the restaurant closed at 8pm. There was no food available until breakfast next morning. I had to go to bed hungry. This is not acceptable.
"The Worst Experience!"
I have stayed at many Premier lnns in Britain and Germany. This one provided the worst experience of them all. The hotel was shabby and well worn. My bath had mouldy mastic (room 26). The restaurant service was the worst ever. The restaurant was ridiculously short staffed for dinner on Thursday 22nd August 8.00pm. There was one one bar staff who was also acting as the waitress too and one Chef. (A total of two staff operating the restaurant). I purchased a meal deal but she did not understand it. I wanted a house rose wine as one of the included drinks, but she said that Rose was NOT included in the deal (although she had some in stock). I showed her the meal deal sheet, but she would not accept it. I had to pay £6 ish for an alternative drink. I wanted the sirloin steak as a main. She said it was a supplement of £6.50p. I explained tha the meal-deal sheet says the supplement was £1.99. She replied that the till said £6.50p. Therefore I ordered an alternative meal choice. So I had to pay for "included" wine and did not order the meal that I wanted. This makes a mockery of the "meal deal". I told the lady at reception, who I believe was the manager. She was sympathetic but did not compensate me. She agreed that the staff member concerned needed more training.
"Dont stay here!"
Very little to like about this hotel. There were some positives. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Close to the railway station. A supermarket just across the road. Mostly quiet. The negatives? Many. Sparsely furnished. Virtually no amenities. No luggage racks. Room was hot and stuffy (there was a pedestal fan). Two teabags! Shabby. In desperate need of a refurb. Reception small and very, very shabby. Restaurant ok. Booked for dinner one night and they didn’t open!
"Bates Motel or Overlook Hotel from the Shining"
Honesty I'm not sure what the hell is going on with Whitbreads Premiere Inn Chain they're evolving into a crossbreed of The Shining or Physco Inns, upoun driving in your greeted with a somewhat industrial Complex looking area with a mixture of cooperate & leasure bussiness, rollin upto the Premiere Inn once you see past the years of overgrowth and moss laden roof line you only then realise you've reached your destination 😳 with great inticipation you stroll up to reception somewhat nervously like a gunslinger from a western you approch reception to announce your arrival only to told there's no Bar Or Food Service Available , well I've just Crossed Over from Malliag and Came down from the Isle of Skye a weary traveller with Family , to be told there's no service , and whats more they required ID to pay the balnce as I offered Good O'le Sheckles , Jingle , Wonga, Euro, otherwise Cash Money 🤑 💸 💲 ,the only ID I had was a Wanted Poster but that wasnt accepted and had to pay with a piece of Environmental Friendly Plastic Card, 😉 🙄, on Arrival to my room I was greeted with the most unpleasant odour it smelt like the last patron forgot to leave and was still under the bed wrapped up in a duvet cover (not kidding by the way , the option left was to head out buy in suppmies and a room fresh , take what you want from this review but 1 thing it aint and thats horsesmit bullsmit or any other kinda smit other than Factual Smit , so please take my advice Premiere Inn Is the New Ryan Air of Hospitality, STD, STD VIEW , PLUS, PLUS WITH VIEW , BREAFAST, DINNER , WI-FI, NEXT IT'LL BE YOUR LUGGAGE, This Hotel is Grossly Overpriced for Tourist's compared to other PI's throughout the country OBAN SADLY IS NEXT ON THE LIST ....
"Avoid at all cost- maybe the WORST Premier Inn"
I cannot recommend. The location is good - for access to town for eating. The approach to the hotel is grim - it looks abandoned. Reception (by lone staff member on a busy Saturday) was slick. But our room was dirty and poorly maintained. - With undersized sheets - Debris on floor - Black and green mould in bathroom - Bath affected by lik=mescale - Soap and shower gel containers filthy and soiled When reported the receptionist abandoned a queue, came and looked, and expressed his dismay and horror. He was unable to swap our room as rooms were full, unable to get a cleaner or provide cleaning materials. He advised that we should raise with PI customer services. So we had a very poor night - but thankfully were staying just 1.
