Elgin hotel

The actual room was lovely, and I believe it to be brand new after speaking to one of the cleaners. Was extremely let down however by the young women on the reception desk - I didn’t catch her name however she was working with an older women - the way she spoke to her infront of guests was disgusting. The older lady was lovely, and to be called a slag at her work I couldn’t quite believe it. The fact the young lady can speak to anyone like this infront of guests while in her employment is horrible.

Over the past week my family have stayed in 3 Premier Inns, Tamworth, Cardiff and Elgin. We stayed for 3 nights in Elgin and it has been the worse one we have stayed in, the only good thing was the bed and location which was close to a sporting venue we were attending. We had numerous emails to upgrade our food to a meal deal. When emailing to book a table we found that the restaurant was shut for dinner for our entire stay. They gave an option for the Friday night but with a limited menu and with only one chef we declined. I booked a quad room to be given a family room and then had to share a bed with my daughter. The breakfast was not good either. Cold food. Coffee machine not working. We will definitely not be staying next year when we attend our sporting event. Fire alarm went off to be told not to worry if it goes off again, it could be due to building works. A friend's son bought some chewing gum from the vending machine to find it was out of date! Heating not working in another room, then when it was fixed something clicked all night. All in all out of 5 rooms that the team had booked, no one was happy. For what we paid we are not impressed.

Lovely staff ALL round. However within the restaurant we met 2 lovely young ladies that should be given a BIG raise... Both provided such a friendly, fantastic service and were so very pleasant..it was a pleasure to dine there as the food was also lovely.... To Mollie (breakfast time) & Alex (Evening meal) .. Thank you so very much for being you :).. 5***** isn't enough for the service we were given....

I checked in to this hotel again through work , the minute you pull up in car outside just tells a story , rubbish everywhere , fags ends , looks awful . You walk in reception looks like it’s not been cleaned in years . Well the girl on desk (she informs me she is management ) looks about 10 years old . I had a meal deal only to be told no staff to open for food. Not what you want to hear after driving 6 hours . My room where do I start looks like the same bedding from previous guest as was evidentially used with fresh stains and room was mouldy , walls dirty , toilet not clean and bath had scum all around . Clearly no body has job positions in this establishment as nothing is checked or cared about. Went to reception was told that it would get cleaned in the morning as she wasn’t a clearer , says it all really .

The noisiest 3 nights I’ve ever experienced: Loud talking & laughing in corridor outside room. Loudly clicking room heater thermostat, until I switched it off at the wall. Doors banging shut throughout the night & early morning. Clicking of next door’s light switches sounded like they were inside my room. Footsteps & creaking from room above. Not told that rest would be shut for evening meals for the duration of my stay. They did refund me the breakfast component as a good will measure.
