Aberdeen South (Portlethen) hotel

Avoid at all costs until the building works are complete. We had a most unpleasant stay with building noise but because between 11pm and 8am there was no work being done customer relations say that we just have to accept the noise and filth. No compensation was offered.

Nice hotel, but staff are not cut out for customer service. They were cutting slabs outside the front of the hotel and my car was in the carpark and it got covered in abrasive dust. I had to go to the local self car wash and spend £6 to clean it. When i mentioned this to reception the woman laughed and walked away . I then asked for my £6 back. While she was still laughing i mentioned i would put this attitude on a review and all a sudden it was “ i will palm you off to premier inn customer services here is the number” . ( premier inn customer services will not look at your complaint till you check out, ) As i found out after explaining for 20 minutes them how poorly they treat customers. Back at reception at 3pm to see if the building work was carrying on ( so i would park my car elsewhere) i mentioned that the barrier around the work area at the main entrance path, had fallen down ( it had been lying across the main entrance walkway since 4am) Note: many if not all the staff that worked in this hotel had walked passed it and not one person had the decency to move it. I persisted (through all the excuses, “it is engineering work ..blah bla ) So when I mentioned it was a hazard ( which they could see from reception window) and in two minutes it was moved. Not what i expect from a premier inn at all. Lazy -lip service, but i will persist with customer services and update..

Staff were very abrupt and rude, demanding we were to be in our room by 10pm. We were informed about work getting done, and would start at 8am in the morning, but not during the weekend, hammer drills started at 7am, doors getting ripped of rooms, and to not have barriers on the paths where wood, nail guns, saws were lying , meant we had to walk on the grass, which was really wet and muddy after the downpour of rain over the weekend.

A great experience from Premier Inn, Portlethan. Great location, excellent customer service and reasonable value. overall experience was 100%.

Don't ask for the mixed grill or a steak at the restaurant brewers fayre next door. Steak was cremated 1 side and well done. Asked for a replacement and 2nd steak was still well done instead of medium again - but atleast it wasn't burnt. Also the half chicken breast was totally missing from the mixed grill! Thankfully I had a 25% voucher so I don't feel hard done by. I received compensation in the way of a couple of free drinks but needless to say I don't recommend and won't be back. Sorry everyone in the kitchen, I don't know what happened tonight.
