"Exactly what you expect from Premier Inn"
Although the prices are noticeably higher than some other Premier Inns the rooms are exactly what you expect from Premier Inn. The location is good with adequate free parking and just a 20 minute walk into St Andrews centre.
"Comfortable stay,"
Staff were helpful and friendly, hotel is in a good walking distance from city centre, overpriced considering everything, toilet roll dispenser in toilet was why review is low.
"Overpriced, unpleasant staff, hot, smelly and with bad food…"
While we are normally fond of the premier inn chain, this particular one in St. Andrew’s is terrible. Overpriced by a lot for what it is, no working air conditioners (just an electric fan in the room) even though website claims to have air conditioning, broken breakfast buffet equipment so that the surly manager had to take orders and bring food around himself (think Fawlty Towers 😀), rooms smell bad and pillows are like rocks…we left after one night of our two night booking to move somewhere better.
"Dirt"
I’ve stayed here a few times always been very good staff for breakfast we’re excellent but the room we stayed in was disgusting asked for the room to be cleaned all was done bed was made never noticed when leaving how bad dust everywhere crumbs at the bin ,wall badly marked one of the worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in
"Comfortably the worst Premier Inn I've stayed in"
Don't be deceived by the map. this hotel is 20 mins walk from the bus station, 25 mins from town. So unless you have a car, you'll be walking a lot or relying on the bus. There are no restaurants near the hotel, apart form the Premier Inn restaurant, which was adequate at best. There is an M&S food store and an Aldi nearby though. We found the hotel stairwell carpets to be a bit grubby, a sheet in the bedroom was clean but had a brown stain on it, and the bathroom had a permanent musty smell, which was unpleasant. I don't think the bathroom extractor fan was working. We're usually big fans of Premier Inns but we found this one way overpriced for the location (over £200 a night) and comfortably the worst Premier Inn we've stayed in. Can't fault the hotel staff though, they were friendly and helpful.
