Dumfries hotel

The hotel is very clean, tidy, and I would say one of the nicest Premier Inns I have used in a while. Receptionist gave a warm friendly welcome and was very informative about the area, facilities and places to eat or visit. we asked about the construction works going on outside the hotel. We would return again just to see the place when its completed. Rooms and the hotel was quiet, no road noise of any kind and provided a well rested sleep due to blackout curtains and room temperature, not too warm or cool. Bathroom was clean, no silly purple nightlight on all night in there, unlike some hotels have, floor covering in bathroom was sensible, not grey or black where you cannot see any staining. surprisingly there where a lot of cars in the car park the next morning, despite the location and midweek stay, obviously a well used hotel. One thing to note is the entrance off the road as you drive in, some subsidence of some sort has made it very uneven and bumpy. Proceed slowly or you will lose the underside of your vehicle. it is going to be repaired when the new fast food outlet is completed. The hotel restaurant is also going to undergo some investment and a works to that in the very near future, the hotel too is getting some works to that too we believe. All in all a great stay in a nice hotel

Big hotel with basic rooms, with mostly very nice staff. Great location for touring, and tons of parking. Restaurant was very good -- much better than expected -- and restaurant/bar staff were great.

Expensive for the quality of the room and location. The hotel is pretty far from the town centre with only an hourly bus available as local transport. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling, which had been painted over which shows it's a know issue. The room doesn't have fridges, and with no local shops it meant my food shop spoiled after a couple of days. Staff, when available, were friendly enough.

This Premier Inn was not the best. It was very worn and the paint is literally peeling off the walls. The stairwells were dirty. Although it’s convenient for the M6, we had to drive through a major building site to get to it. When we got to our room, 2 of the lights were broken and the grouting in the shower was mouldy. The hotel and adjacent restaurant had a semi-derelict feel to it, as if it was awaiting demolition. On the plus side, it was only £61 for a room and the bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. We found a great curry house in Dumfries to have dinner. Curry Wallah was amazing.
