Dumfries hotel

Great stay rooms lovely and clean and comfy beds. Bethany and Paul on reception were very welcoming and gave us some good ideas for visiting. Georgina in the restaurant is a breath of fresh air and the food here was good too. Breakfast was really good and lots to choose from. Angela was especially nice and spent time informing us of local attractions and shops. Honestly what a great team each and every one of you I mentioned give 100% and deserve the recognition. We will definitely be back. Hopefully the Wi-Fi will have been upgraded by then.

We had a disappointment with this hotel. It was not to the expectations of Premier Inn. Reception gave us room 46 the shower was black with mould. We were changed to room 4 grugingly by the receptionist. Kirsty the house keeper was most helpful in the move and assistance was first class. We asked for towels to be told by the receptionist, "it would have been sensible to take the towels from Room 46"!!! Alarm bells rang. Room 4 was lacking a bed foot cover and one two lights were not working. There were no comfort cushions on the bed. The pillows were rock hard. We asked for soft pillows, "they are in a bag in the room", these were worse, that is why we asked. Pillows appeared when we were out and were no better. One was stained with black mould. Receptionist were not helpful and only Kirsty understood customer care, courtesy and service delivery. As a couple we ate once in the restaurant for dinner. It was okay but the place needed dusting on the shelves etc. I dined alone one night at 18:00 ordering gammon. It came at 18:25 black and burnt. The fries were obviously refried and were horrible. I asked for it to be changed. Grudgingly it was taken away. At 19:00 I had not been given a meal so went to the bar to pay the waitress. Who wanted to charge me for the gammon. I had not had a meal and only wanted to pay for the coke. It took her to be objectionable to my complaint and would not accept that I had a problem. I was accused of being a difficult customer. A better waitress came and sorted the bill out and I was told by the first waitress I was horrible. Breakfast was fine, Heather and Angela could not have been more helpful to diet issues and provided us with good service and made us welcome. I hope the hotel gets a keen manager like Kirsty, Angela, or Heather as without these experienced staff I would have demanded a refund and left after two days.

The ladies who were working the breakfast shift (1/10) were ace and very accommodating. Give em' a payrise. Also the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff very friendly. Bit of a fly situation in the rooms. Extractor van very noisy in bathroom. Have to request room to be cleaned when you want it but staff do great job. WiFi terrible, Netflix wouldn’t even load. You can get premium WiFi at the small cost of £5 a day. Breakfast staff were the highlight and would brighten anyone’s day, meeting all my requirements every day. Angela and Heather are top of their class and deserve 5 stars on their own⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Exceptional breakfast service from Angela and Anna during both days of our visit. Will definitely be back in the future!
