"I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me"
The accessible room number 304 was awful. It smelled damp and musty. It set off my health conditions and made me ill. The disabled access was not acceptable from the carpark to the room and was dangerous by wheelchair and parking was down or uphill of the annex. The carpark needs resurfacing too. There was a really steep ramp between the reception and the restaurant that was like taking your life in your own hands. Impossible in a manual wheelchair and dangerous with electric as it was so steep and round multiple bends. The AC unit in the room was noisy and we got little sleep and the smell was awful. The window didn’t open at all and the artwork was on the wall wonky, it was just all awful. Also there was barely anywhere to put clothes except a few coat hangers. There were no shelves and for a 3 night stay living out of our cases and bags it made getting round the room in a wheelchair very difficult. We tried to go for dinner one night but we were told the chef had walked out and a lot of staff were also quitting so there was no food. We had to get back in the vehicle and drive for a macdonalds at 8pm at night. As a wheelchair user with health issues I needed to eat and I was so exhausted and it was extra effort it left me ill. Another day at breakfast they purposely never made enough so we didn’t get breakfast. The restaurant floor was filthy too with food everywhere in the carpet. I have never been so disgusted and disappointed with premier inn. I have tried to complain and have complained 5 times now and I’m still not getting anywhere with a refund yet despite their guarantee of a good nights sleep. They have made it so hard to complain. I would definitely avoid this hotel.

"Less than premier!"
On arrival, I found the public areas were physically cold and uninviting. Once inside my room, which looked like every other Premier Inn room I've ever stayed in, I was reminded how big these rooms are, but how much of it is just wasted space compared to the other two hotels. It also means it's a bigger space to heat and to clean. The first thing I did was turn up the thermostat.
The bathroom was the largest of the three I used during my travels (staying in two other hotel chains). The shower was over the bath but there was no safety rail or non-slip mat to use so I found it unsafe. Also, there was no glass screen for the shower, rather a plastic curtain which looked a bit cheap by comparison to the other hotels. The best feature of this bathroom was the sink, which was larger than the other two but also suffered from poor plumbing - it had a revolving plug which didn't fit properly, so essentially you had to keep the tap running as, if you filled the sink, the water would drain away quite quickly. Also, the hot tap emitted what appeared to be iron filings (at least I hope they were!) This suggested to me that the plumbing needed some sort of overhaul, but did make me rather nervous of using the sink.
The tea and coffee offer was the poorest of all three hotels, with no decaf coffee, (admittedly, this was available from reception, but it would have been nice to have had it in the room). The bed had its much-vaunted mattress, which I found difficulty getting into because it was a good 5 centimetres higher than the other two. It almost felt as though I needed a ladder to climb into it. The wall mounted TV was also the smallest of the three hotels, less than half the size of the others. Bedside tables were too small as well, barely enough room for a cup, phone and tv remote. The ample desk area was however the one facility the others lacked.

"Bad night sleep"
Poor nights sleep there was some beeping and noisy guests. Room was clean & comfortable, just wish we hadn’t been disturbed with the beeping

"Overall an ok stay but had much better"
The staff that we did see were lovely and friendly, however staff were sparse and you had to wait on reception or get staff to open bar. Restaurant was closed with not much close by to choose from

Looking to stay for one night as attending a funeral
Room was clean bed was great
As were the reception staff on the Thursday day and night
Slept well bit of door banging early in the night as people settled but nothing disturbing
Woke early to head for breakfast before changing for funeral
Freezing morning with ice on the pavement (.not gritted)
No connecting door to breakfast
Restaurant adamant no breakfast book advised I needed a receipt (in my room) back out in the cold over the icy pavements up to the room get the receipt
He has followed me from the restaurant and is discussing with reception issues with breakfast nos ???
He is advised by reception staff breakfast has been paid
I show my no longer needed receipt
No apology nothing
Debate a little breakfast as you get exactly what you ask for
Ie bacon comes as one slice sausage comes as one sausage
The food was lovely but space
The biggest disappointment was when we returned from the funeral to collect our bags and asked if we could. Use the toilet?
NO was the answer
