Falkirk Central hotel

We stopped here for a night on our way up to Skye, mostly so we could see the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel before heading further north. The best part of the stay was how thoughtful the team was about our room placement. I was traveling with my elderly mum and booked two rooms, and having her right next door made the whole stay so easy. At around 7:30 am on a chilly October morning, it was extremely perfect to just step across the hall to check on her, carry her bag, and grab fresh hot tea together before hitting the road. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast with warm coffee, and the bed in my room was definitly one of the coziest I have slept in for a long time. Everything was spotless, quiet, and getting out onto the road toward the wheel took us less than ten minutes.

Falkirk Central is in an excellent location to enjoy the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel, which we aimed to do en route to Skye. Unfortunately, on this occasion there was a lot of building works going on, which did disrupt our stay a little. Dining room was unavailable for breakfast or evening meal etc. Premier did offer complementary hot drinks and continental breakfast to make up for the disruption though, so well done to them. Our room was clean and comfortable as we’ve come accustomed too from Premier Inn. On this occasion, I booked 2 rooms, one being for my elderly Mum. So pleased that our rooms were placed in close proximity. Thank you Premier Inn

We found hair under the bed, the shower pole in corners was rusty, the bathroom door and skirting need re-painting, the bath was slippery when wet and my fried and scrambled egg both had egg shell in. When I complained, they said my husband had to put in the complaint as he was the one that booked the room but he doesn't like complaining so they did nothing!

Standards as expected from Premier Inn and no issues with the room, bathroom, bed or bedding BUT the heating wasn't working and the room was very cold. I ended up having to get into bed to get warm. It was late and I couldn't be bothered to get dressed and go down to reception. I mentioned the following day to reception when I checked out and the lady apologised profusely and stated that I should have rung the hotel, whereupon they would have supplied a portable heater. I didn't know until then that it was possible to ring that hotel as I thought all calls to Premier Inn went to a central hub. Other than that, the stay was fine.

The reception staff were super friendly, helpful & informative, excellent start to the trip. Clean, basic hotel but very thing we need was available. As maintenance was in progress no cooked breakfast available but a complimentary takeaway continental breakfast was good. Quiet hotel and good price.
