"Poor Restaurant"
I checked in on Sunday, 31st August, for a three-night work stay. Check-in was quick and easy, and I had phoned ahead to book a table in the restaurant as I expected to arrive late. Dinner with the meal deal was fine, and I was allocated room 106 (a Premier Inn Plus room). The room itself was fine, though the shower lacked a bit of power. Unfortunately, when I turned the TV off, I noticed a constant humming noise from outside, which sounded like the restaurant air conditioning unit. This made it difficult to sleep. The next morning, I went for breakfast at 6:45 but was told the chef had slept in, so no hot food was available. As breakfast was included in my meal deal, this was disappointing. I was told to help myself to cereal or toast. I’ve stayed in hundreds of Premier Inns across the UK and never experienced this before. That evening, I phoned ahead again to book a table. I ordered a plain burger and chips (no sauce, salad, or coleslaw), the same as the night before. Around 20 minutes later, my meal arrived but was not plain. It was sent back, and after 15 minutes the replacement still wasn’t right. A third attempt came 20 minutes later, but the burger was barely warm, and the bun was rock hard — clearly reused. When I complained to the restaurant staff, they didn’t seem concerned. I raised the issue with reception, who said the duty manager would follow up in the morning, but I heard nothing. The following morning, breakfast was much better — fresh, hot, and served quickly. However, at dinner that evening, my order was again incorrect. Staff told me the order had been put through correctly, but the chef had made a mistake. Once again, reception said the duty manager would call me, but I still haven’t heard anything. Overall, I was very disappointed. The hotel room itself was fine, but the noise, poor meal service, and lack of management follow-up let the stay down. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again.
"Get kitchen in working order"
Restaurant disaster.... arrived 4pm Friday afternoon 5th to a slow check in. Told kitchen was busy and only booking left would be 8.15pm. Took this booking and settled in room. 2 adults and 2 children room was small but clean. at 6.30/7pm knock to our door from member of staff to inform us problem in kitchen and they would only be serving pizzas. If we wanted to book another restaurant and cancel that was fine just ring reception and they would book us in somewhere else. Rang reception 4 times nobody answered. We called down to reception when going out after finding somewhere online ourselves and I asked the receptionist how this would work now as I had prepaid our meals. She responded 'Do you want it refunded' she said it would be back in my account the following day.I haven't received refund yet but following this up. Breakfast the following morning was a disaster and badly run. we arrived down at 7.30 shown to table and left to it. At 7.50 I asked a waitress to take our order we were attending an event which started at 9am, at 8.20 I asked waitress could we leave the breakfast as we can't wait any longer for it. she said the fire alarm had gone off because toaster was too high and switched the gas off in kitchen ao chef was having bother boiling an egg. We received our lukewarm breakfast 5 mins later which we barely ate and left. I will never go back to this hotel it out a really downer on our trip. I've stayed in alot of premier inn hotels and not experienced anything like this.
"Staff training a huge need"
Beautiful upgraded rooms and comfortable beds Were advised on arrival that the kitchen is “slow” due to new chef and staff training but there’s slow and slow Went to dinner at 18:45- eventually after multiple checks with staff who obviously were new and unsupported our main courses arrived at 19:45. Husband served a steak which was ok but with a huge raw ( slightly warm) mushroom on side- explained to staff that this was totally unsafe to serve : she had no idea and said she’d report it to her supervisor. My scampi & chips and we are still waiting for the peas. Others in restaurant were in same boat Was dreading breakfast this morning but it was actually ok. 🤣 Lots of staff around but only 1 male knew what he was doing and it was like trying to herd sheep Bottle of beer served with no glass
"Food experience"
We first of all arrive at approx 8.30 in the evening no one at reception. We were there for 10 minutes before someone arrived. We booked a meal and we waited over and 1_ hour for a burnt sharing platter onion rings were so hard and burnt
"Good hotel visit"
Great place to stay hotel staff couldn’t be more helpful. Nice big car park. Only issue is the restaurant wasn’t ran very efficiently as it took nearly 2 hours for food to arrive.
