"Attitude"
The man on reception at 3.20pm on Aug 28th was exceptionally rude towards myself and my friend both upon check in and again after our return from my hospital appointment at 10.30pm. Our booking was for a standard room in error, we asked for it to be a twin or beds separated. He beratted us telling us that there was a concert on in the city that night and that we would have to take what we got. He said there was no other availability in the hotel or in any hotel. He eventually reluctantly agreed to arrange for the beds to be separated. We asked for a taxi to be booked for 4pm to take me to Kingsbridge hospital for my appointment, he scoffed and said we had no chance of getting a taxi. We did not get back to the hotel until 10.30pm after said appointment/procedure. The same man was on reception. The room was not resolved. My friend rang down to reception to ask again for the beds to be separated, the same man was so rude he said we would have to "put up with it". He accused us of " rolling around on the bed". We advised we were only back from the hospital. He was being so rude that my friend hung up the phone. There was a younger guy on reception on our return at 10.30 he rang back the room immediately and asked nicely if we had disturbed the bed we said no he said he would come up. He then very kindly moved us from 340 to 336 which was a twin available room. The second guy was very nice & helpful. Thus behaviour towards a senior citizen & my friend is totally unacceptable. I have been to Belfast a number of times over the past few months and stayed elsewhere, I would never stay in this hotel again. To be treated so badly after going through a hospital procedure was disgusting. I was mortified that my friend had to deal with that after being so kind to come with me.
"Great experience"
1st I've been out in Belfast for years, couldn't believe the hotel's location. I was at a wedding in the merchant which was round the corner. Rooms were great, staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. My only negative was that the bar the speed of service was poor mainly because the staff were so busy making cocktails so anyone just wanting a bog standard round it did take some waiting time. Overall I would go back.
"Perfect location for a Belfast night out!"
Fantastic location with lovely staff. Clean and comfortable , perfect for a city break to see a gig, take in a few pubs or have some food.
"Great location comfortable quiet"
Great location quiet clean comfortable rooms comfy bed. Parking in lot one block over with special price deal so useful. Breakfast is all fried no plain yogurt or fresh fruit (well a fruit salad of tasteless apples melon and canned pineapple) good mushrooms, all processed breads. Check in staff were very friendly and welcoming. Walking distance to everything safe but animated neighbor hood great for quiet retreat after busy pubs concerts show. Elevator access. Hotels in Belfast are expensive, well in all of Ireland so this one is ok value for money and prices increase a lot over weekends and holidays
"👌🏻"
I stayed here before its renovation and to say it was grim would have been an understatement. Tho we stayed here at the weekend for a concert and it was just perfect. Modern clean rooms. Our first room had a really bad smell when we opened the door, we rang down to reception who changed us rooms immediately. So all in all we were very happy with our stay, and VERY conveniently located to everything 👌🏻
