Dusseldorf City Friedrichstadt hotel

Nice modern hotel that's close to the main train station but lots of noise from the train tracks that sit directly behind the hotel. The hotel itself was good and the location was convenient, but unfortunately the overnight train noise was a significant issue during my stay. I stayed on the 5th floor on the side of the hotel facing alongside the railway tracks rather than directly towards them. I was aware of the railway when booking, so I expected some level of train noise. However, I was surprised by how frequently trains continued to pass during the night. Every passing train was clearly audible from the room, despite the double-glazed windows, and the noise repeatedly disturbed my sleep. I had also specifically requested a quiet room when booking, so this was particularly disappointing. Aside from the noise, I had a good stay and the hotel was convenient for the station and getting around Düsseldorf. However, if you're a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room away from the railway tracks.

I don't know what others want in a hotel. This hotel is everything I need. Clean, comfortable, basic and priced right. I don't need a room sized like a basketball court, mint or cookies on my pillow, etc. I don't need room service everyday. Like you clean your house and use fresh sheets and towels everyday. I know that you did not fly in first class on the airline that you used. Premier Inn's are for the same people who fly basic economy. This hotel is in a great location, within a very short walk from the train station, very attractive lobby, very nice staff, right near police station. A Rewe market is two blocks away. They might have included more towels, a wash cloth, a room safe and refrigerator, but for the price, I survived.

Before travelling, I requested a cot for my baby through Expedia and was told it would be arranged. When we arrived, we were first placed in a room with three single beds, but the staff member quickly changed it and assured us a cot would be brought up soon, which was fine. When we entered the new room, there was a strong smell of cigarettes and the window was broken and stuck open, which felt unsafe with a baby. My husband went to reception, the staff apologised, and we were moved again. The next room was clean and suitable. One night, my baby had an accident on the bed, so my husband asked reception for new bedding, using Google Translate to apologise. He was first given a sheet in the wrong size, then a duvet cover, which we made work for the night after being told housekeeping would replace everything the next day. The following morning, we confirmed at reception that our room would be cleaned. However, when we returned, only the towels had been changed (replaced with just one towel for the three of us) and the dirty bedding was still in the room. As it was our last night, we managed, but it was disappointing. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and the bed was very comfortable, but improvements to housekeeping are definitely needed.

Location is convenient if you need something close to the train station. The front desk staff is incompetent and rude. The worst experience. Zero alignment and understanding of internal regulations on the front desk level. Total inability to communicate in a professional friendly manner, zero problem solving mindset and complete absence of basic communication skills. Bathrooms are disgusting filled with mold and bathtubs clogged with hair and slime. Trains outside are loud and if you have kids or not used to sleeping in a noisy environment - good luck falling asleep. We had to close the window, it was too hot and still loud. The area is sketchy. Definitely not worth the money spent.

Four nights stay . Hotel in good location right next to main station. We were on the 5th floor room quiet and clean. Downside - you have to request room cleaning daily, unfortunately even though we requested this in the morning, on our return we found it hadn’t been cleaned we had to go down reception to request clean towels. The same can be said for tea/coffee tray it was not replenished daily. Bar staff very helpful.
