"Motorcyclists stay away!!"
Arrived here on a motorcycle in incredibly hot weather. Checked in. My husband had understood when he booked, that the hotel had secured parking which was underground and next to the hotel. On entering the underground parking, the barrier went up, to allow access to the car park but a frantic German voice, in german was shouting from the speaker on the barrier. Couldn’t understand what was being said. Entered the car park to find a space,of which there were plenty, to find an irate aggressive little German man almost running after us on the motorcycle. Once he realised we were not German, he spoke in English but no less aggressive! We were informed that the car park was just that! A CAR park! Motorcycles were FORBIDDEN! NOT ALLOWED! My husband asked where he was supposed to park,to which the irate little man said “outside! Motorcycles FORBIDDEN! “Outside we went and back round to the front of the hotel so my husband could speak to reception staff. Reception were NOT very helpful either. My husband said he’d understood on booking that secure parking was available but informed the receptionist that the parking was only for cars! The receptionist was not bothered and shrugged his shoulders. Informed my husband that Premier Inn did not OWN the car park although it had the Premier Inn logo and the hotel advertised its premises as having secured parking ( but obviously ONLY for cars!)
The receptionist then said to my husband that he thought he had come on a mountain bike!!! ( what, from the uk! ) Not sure what the parking policy was for bicycles!
Anyway, it was incredibly hot and later in the day and had been a long ride so despite everything, the motorbike was parked outside the main door of the hotel and secured to the cycle racks, near the smokers area. Not in anyway ideal but had we arrived much earlier, we would have tried to find somewhere else with secure motorcycle parking. My husband hadn’t double checked on booking the hotel, that the secure parking was available for motorcycles…….. why would you?
I think the room we were given was in the furthest part of the hotel, so we had to carry all of our pannier contents from the motorbike at the front door all the way to our room in 40 degree heat!
Whilst the room was spacious and the bathroom clean, the air conditioning was no more than a warm waft of air! Not cool or cold. It was like having a hairdryer on in the room. There were very few towels and I slipped getting into the shower (which was over the bath ) with only one foot actually in the bath. Bruised knee to the leg that hadn’t even got into the bath at this point!!
Had a lovely meal out ( not at the hotel ) and returned to a very hot unsettled nights sleep in the room with the “ hair dryer “ air conditioning going all night!
The hotel reception, bar and breakfast areas were clean but the lemonades we had in the bar were tiny. Not even a canned drink size. Breakfast was good however.
Would we stay here again? No!! Probably ok, if you’re in a car and don’t mind the air conditioning not working, or for motorcyclists that don’t mind being treated like a second class citizen, otherwise stay away as this hotel doesn’t offer what they advertise.

"Unprofessional staff"
This is a spartan but acceptable hotel (except for the dirty showerhead shown in the picture) with spacious rooms and reasonable rates. It’s let down mainly by most of the staff, who have no idea what friendliness means. And it equals professionalism in this sector.
Let’s put some exemples. When dealing with someone like me, whose German is poor, the receptionist’s response was an imperious “Last name!”—with the tone you’d hear, I imagine, in a military barracks. Don’t expect, on the other hand, that any of the team (except one in five or six) to back your “good morning” or “by, have a nice day” when you walk past them on your way out or to the bar.
The same goes for the housekeeping staff (very poor in my room) or the breakfast team when they ask you (if they ask at all) for your room number.
If you add to all that, the frequent Wi-Fi outages (July 8, 9, and 10) and that one of the elevators was out of order during all my stay it's hard to evaluate the experience as positive. Will I go back? Most likely not. More important for me than room size and price is a friendly and professional staff.

"Stay at the Steigenberger"
The room was so hot it was unbearable. The staff was rude (not all but 1/2); good breakfasts (the attendant was absent and liquids were not apparent). No safe, no refrigerator and no daily room service.” (Every four days). Extra towels were not in bathroom, but hidden in closet. I could never recommend this place to anyone. The shower is dangerously slippery so be careful. If you are going here to save money, you are making a mistake.

"THIS HOTEL STAFF DON'T LIKE UK PEOPLE "
NO ROOM SERVICE AT ALL IN 5 DAY STAY.
I booked a Double room back in February 2024 ready for our holiday in Brunswick Germany in Sept 2024, when we came to visit friends.
1- On arrival we got to our room to find it wasn't a double as booked but a TWIN on the 2nd floor.
We went back down to reception (no phone in the room) to request the DOUBLE room that had been booked for the past 6 months.
The receptionist just SHRUGGED her shoulders NO APOLOGY and informed us that the hotel was full and there were no other rooms available, so we will have to 'PUSH THE BEDS TOGETHER.' Another man tried to say ' You got what you booked ' and was SO RUDE AND INSULTING!!
2- During our 4 full days stay (checked out on the 5th day) we had NO ROOM SERVICE AT ALL.
During our stay, I had to go down to reception again and request fresh towels, as no room service. Again NO APOLOGY, just handed the towels with a glare from the same INSULTING man.
3- We had NO room coffee or tea top ups, NO bathroom cleaning, no clean cups!!
We ended up having to go to the local McDonald's just around the corner to buy a coffee and food with a friendly smile.
I have been using Premier Inn for all my UK trips and never had any issues, BUT THIS PREMIER INN IN BRUNSWICK GERMANY, IS AN INSULT TO THE UK BRAND NAME!!!!!
