"Very good overall"
We had a Premier+ room so a few little extra amenities but essentially the same room as standard. So, the room was clean, bed fine, excellent shower. The negative was the air con which did keep shutting itself off and will (nowadays) only go down to 19 degrees. The latter plus the non-opening windows did detract from the overall experience to be honest.

"Great overnight stay"
We were up for a uni open day and this hotel worked really well for us. We enquired about inter connecting rooms before we booked and the staff member was incredibly helpful; ensuring that our requirements were met once we had a booking number. The car park had loads of spaces but we had to use the app to get the 24 hour rate (which was about £10) as the machine would only let us do until 8am for £7.50. We used the self check in which worked first time! Once in the rooms, the inter connecting doors were open and ready. The rooms and bathrooms were both clean. Great stay; would come back!

"Not what it use to be"
Fifteen years ago I travelled a great deal on business and often chose PI - their rooms were good value, clean and comfortable.
But now I travel less, on the occasions I do I am less keen with the brand, and there are two policies they have introduced in recent years that have caused this.
First, not servicing rooms daily. Yes, there is a leaflet somewhere that says that if you’d like your room serviced mid-stay you just need to ask at reception and hang a sign on your door handle. I have tried that (not at Worcester, but I suspect the location is mostly irrelevant): you first have to find a receptionist in the morning, make the request, and then hope that they tell the cleaning staff. On at least one occasion in the past that communication didn’t happen. I didn’t even bother during this four-night stay, by the end of which the bin was overflowing.
Secondly, not providing opening windows. I haven’t a clue why they think sealing them is a good idea. There is a little sticker on the window that tells you you can’t open it but assures you ‘there’s a constant stream of fresh air inside your room’. Not in the room I stayed in there wasn’t; when I first entered it after check-in the air was as stale as a farmer’s armpit during harvest season. If the air is so fresh WHY DO THE ROOMS STINK WHEN THEY HAVE JUST BEEN SERVICED?
The aircon controls are unfathomable too, and it seems to switch itself off sometimes. The net result is a poor night’s sleep - but lack of fresh air overnight can, I believe, give rise to health issues, including (I’ve heard somewhere) strokes. And wasn’t it during Covid that we were told to open windows to admit fresh air to reduce the chance of catching something nasty? No wonder the cleaner I saw at the Worcester PI was wearing a blue face mask.
The room was a budget price - approx. £61 a night room only - but I would still prefer somewhere I can open a window during the night, and where they empty the bin for you daily, even if it were a little more expensive.

"Good premier inn and restaurant"
Stayed 1 night in March 26
Good - location very close to city centre next to cricket ground and river, easy reception check in, clean room, warm room, good evening meal quality and good breakfast buffet quality.
Bad - nothing of note

"Great location, easy parking and excellent service from staff. We'd recommend the Premier Plus rooms."
Location is excellent for walking into the town centre where there are plenty of good restaurants and shops. Parking is right outside, a charge of £10.50 per 24hours. We had a Premier Plus room which was definitely worth the additional cost. Better layout, with mini fridge and coffee machine plus great views. Bed was comfy as always in a PI, and staff/service were excellent.
Didn't have breakfast as walked into town where there is a huge choice of places to eat... bar area was good in the evening although it was really busy as a major event was on - and the children were just feral! Jumping on furniture and running riot in the restaurant/bar area. Complete opposite to the evening before, which was the end of Cheltenham week and which had been great with a relaxed feel.
Major downside was the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. Needed a thorough deep clean as was really grubby - and paintwork needed touching up. Despite all of that, it didn't detract from a great location, reasonable price and really good staff.
