Evesham hotel

We have just had a pleasant 2 night stay here as we were visiting the Gloucs.and Warks.steam railway. We initially only booked for 1 night but an unexpected car breakdown meant we had to book an extra night, which was quickly sorted by the lovely lady on reception. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. The restaurant next door is still open for Premier Inn guests only. We had 2 breakfasts - Sunday was a hot food buffet and Monday's was cooked to order, both very nice. A passing comment about the buffet, not a complaint, is that it is set quite high with the food in covered dishes so, being short I couldn't actually see what was in the dishes at the back! But the covered dishes kept the food warm without drying out so all good. We also had an evening meal one evening, each of us having a different main course and a dessert and we couldn't fault anything. Our sat nav did not want to accept the postcode given but it is near the Texaco garage and KFC if that helps. When you drive in to the carpark watch out for 2 friendly cats who like to take a stroll in that area!

As always the hotel was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room etc very good. However the experience in the restaurant was awful. After waiting an hr for a table for 7 an error on their part saw five of my party having to eat elsewhere while two of us had to wait an additional hr to receive our food. The order for food and drinks were taken soon after we got to our table. There was no communication during this from staff as to what the difficulties were. We didn’t receive drinks until we got our food. Had it not been 10pm at this stage we would have left.There were approx 20 other guests and they appeared to be having similar issues.

The Post Code given is no no where near where the Hotel is placed . The company is aware but it is alleged they cannot do anything about it. We went to the code in their literature and a kind gentleman approached us when we’re parked near his garden and said . “ Are you looking for the Premier Inn and gave us directions. It is near the entrance to the Texaco petrol station. But in giving the wrong POST CODE could be very dangerous . The room we were given smelt of something not nice. May be it needed airing ?? That remark is being kind!

Stayed here for 4 nights, rooms were standard premier inn, the restaurant absolutely horrendous, food adequate at best, waiting times ridiculous, I was staying with 4 colleagues for work, first night 45 minutes wait for starters, my colleague received his starter and main before any other starters had arrive even though we all ordered together,absolutely no organisation, stay at your peril avoid like the plague,

Problems will always happens, that’s life, so it’s how you deal with it that counts. There was a small hiccup regarding early check-in (which hadn’t been logged correctly by another member). Manjeet at the desk immediately recognised we were pushed for time …which was definitely the case, we were running late, still in casual clothes, and had wedding to get to! …and now we seemingly had nowhere to get changed. Step up Manjeet who very calmly arranged another room, had it checked first and made sure we had everything we needed. All done with a very friendly nature and lovely smile that put us at ease. Adriana from the housekeeping team even brought an iron and ironing board to our room. 20mins later we were out the door, “happy as Larry” (whoever Larry is! …probably another happy customer of Manjeet and Evesham PremierIn!! 😃) The perfect resolution: thank you!
