Evesham hotel

The Hotel itself was perfect for us but I was very disappointed in that I received a parking fine for parking outside in the car park. Usually the reception staff write my car reg on the invoice or ask me to input it on the screen. This time I forgot, so I sent my invoice proof that I'd stayed at the hotel. I was shocked when I was told I still had to pay a reduced charge of £15.

It’s an unremarkable Premier Inn, not flashy but reasonable for the price. The restaurant was ok too. I’d have been happy with my stay if it had not been for receiving 2 parking penalty notices a couple of weeks later. Premier Inn customer services said they would appeal them for me but it is unnecessary hassle. Incidentally I did give my reg at check in. I won’t be staying there next time.

Staff were very helpful, room was fine (recently refurbished). Car parking is free as long as registered on arrival. It is more obvious here than some other Premier Inn sites where many unwary guests have received fines. However, I was informed that if notified, the on site staff can overturn Horizon Parking fines if guests show proof that they stayed in the hotel. Might not be as easy in practice as I found out to my cost following a stay at a different Premier Inn. Going for a drink in the pub next door (part of Premier Inn) was the most soulless experience imaginable. All but 2 of the beers weren't on offer any more, the place was deader than a cemetery, and last orders were 10.00pm - on a Saturday night!! Closure imminent probably. For a really good breakfast I recommend the Ellenden Farm Shop that is 10 minuted drive away along the B4088 Evesham Road.

We have just had a pleasant 2 night stay here as we were visiting the Gloucs.and Warks.steam railway. We initially only booked for 1 night but an unexpected car breakdown meant we had to book an extra night, which was quickly sorted by the lovely lady on reception. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. The restaurant next door is still open for Premier Inn guests only. We had 2 breakfasts - Sunday was a hot food buffet and Monday's was cooked to order, both very nice. A passing comment about the buffet, not a complaint, is that it is set quite high with the food in covered dishes so, being short I couldn't actually see what was in the dishes at the back! But the covered dishes kept the food warm without drying out so all good. We also had an evening meal one evening, each of us having a different main course and a dessert and we couldn't fault anything. Our sat nav did not want to accept the postcode given but it is near the Texaco garage and KFC if that helps. When you drive in to the carpark watch out for 2 friendly cats who like to take a stroll in that area!

As always the hotel was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room etc very good. However the experience in the restaurant was awful. After waiting an hr for a table for 7 an error on their part saw five of my party having to eat elsewhere while two of us had to wait an additional hr to receive our food. The order for food and drinks were taken soon after we got to our table. There was no communication during this from staff as to what the difficulties were. We didn’t receive drinks until we got our food. Had it not been 10pm at this stage we would have left.There were approx 20 other guests and they appeared to be having similar issues.
