Swindon West (M4, J16) hotel

I cannot fault this travel lodge. The gentleman on the desk could not have been more helpful. When I found that the room I was allocated did not suit my needs he quickly realised and looked to see if he could find me an alternative (NB The issue with the suitability of the room was all my fault as I did not look properly at the height of the property and it was higher than I thought, I have disabilities which mean I can only do ground or first floor rooms!). He went above and beyond and did not stress that I'd managed to cause a queue as it was busy. The room was lovely and had air conditioning which was on which was very welcome after a very long hot drive. Everything was clean and tidy, with tea and coffee making facilities. The noise level was good and I was not disturbed at all. The bed was amazingly comfortable, I suffer with a bad back and have a special bed at home and this one matched my own. I was pleased there was a plug point right next to the bed as I have a machine I need to plug in overnight for my disability, many competitors no longer have this and I end up plugging in an extension lead which drapes across the floor. There was a beefeater next door so I was able to get something nice to eat which was really welcome after my drive as I did not want to go out looking for food. Staff were helpful and friendly. I booked the table when I booked into the Premier Inn whish was helpful. I would stay here again and would recommend.

Unfortunately one of the worst Premier Inns I have stayed in. Where to start: the room smelt stale and had a number of spiders on the ceiling. Toilet very hard to flush - needed two hands. Shower pressure very low and bathroom extractor fan was very noisy. Air con looked new but was so noisy it was impossible to sleep. No sound on BBC channel on TV. The Beefeater next door delivered a very sloppy and poor quality breakfast. No clean cups, all hot food plates empty, dirty dishes on every table. Overall would not stop again or recommend.

As usual at a Premier Inn, the welcome and check-in was friendly and efficient. Clean and comfortable room with a good shower. A quiet night. Convenient to have a restaurant attached. Plenty of free parking on-site.

Stayed one night here just off jct16 Swindon . Excellent room with air conditioning which was great as it was a hot day / warm night . Very helpful staff and the breakfast was excellent in the restaurant. Plenty of free parking . Would stay again to break the journey .

A good location, good free parking, good food provision available, and the usual Premier Inn Format and room standards. The only downside was the Aircon in my room was not functioning correctly and as a late arrival I did not discover this until fully ready for bed and not prepared to get re-dressed and go to Reception!! Fortunately it was not an unduly hot night. As is often the case at Premier Inns, the Free WiFi is so slow that it would not play short videos that I wished to watch. OK for Text Pages but nothing more! So poor WiFi and poor Aircon Maintenance/Management spoiled what would have been a perfectly acceptable stay.
