"Excellent 1 night stay…will return"
Just a 1 night stay. A little apprehensive about booking, after reading about location and some review comments.
Our stay exceeded expectations in pretty much all aspects. In particular, all the staff we experienced could not have been more hard working and helpful. Special mention for Connor, John, Bella and Caitlin. Spoke with all of those and they were brilliant; a credit to Premier Inns
The room we had was typical of Premier Inns, functional, everything worked, comfy bed, plenty hot water and electric sockets. Given how much traffic passes by right outside, the triple glazing did its job really well and it was quiet inside. The room was well prepared and spotlessly clean.
We only ate continental breakfast here.
See my separate review about the Wig & Quill pub in Salisbury, if you like good traditional pub food and beer in an d characterful building.
The dining area at Salisbury Milford felt a bit cramped to me but otherwise it was bright, clean and well laid out. Plenty of the usual items available and Bella did an efficient and very smiley job replenishing stocks and clearing away.
Finally, although the location is at the edge of a big retail park, with a busy main road immediately outside, it wasn’t all negative. Relatively cheap fuel at adjacent Tesco superstore. Less than 5 mins walk to Park n Ride to Salisbury centre…well worth using rather than queue in traffic and struggling to find a car park space.
Salisbury old centre and cathedral was wonderful. On Saturday morning, nearby Romsey also made a great place to visit for a few hours.
A well deserved 5 star from me. Hope to return and spend longer there.

"Our stay lacked the basic- staff “what staff”… room stunk"
Comfortable Beds, But Everything Else Fell Short”
Our stay was extremely disappointing, especially considering this hotel wasn’t cheap.
On the first night, the room had a musty smell. We later discovered why — the room had clearly flooded. The tap wouldn’t stop running and eventually the bathroom and carpet were completely soaked. We reported this to reception but were offered no real help, just two towels. We had to request more and ended up soaking five towels trying to deal with it ourselves.
The next day, I asked for the room to be cleaned. Despite signage in reception and on the door stating to let staff know if cleaning was required, I was told they don’t clean stayover rooms. I explained the situation — a flooded bathroom, soaked towels, and the smell — but was still refused. The response was simply, “so you want fresh towels?” when what was needed was proper cleaning.
Later, we returned to the hotel and had lost our key. There were no staff around for 20+ minutes. We checked the kitchen and staff areas, pressed the help button, and even called the hotel — the phone was just ringing on the desk. When someone finally appeared, there was no apology, just an explanation that they were making up a room.
Overall, this hotel showed zero consideration for customer experience. The room should never have been allocated in that condition, and the lack of support made the situation worse. It feels like profit is being prioritised over basic standards and service.
The only positive was that the beds were comfortable — but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for everything else.

"Lovely mid week stay"
I had a lovely stay here. food was great and the staff were friendly and efficient. Bella, helped me big time in the restaurant as my eyesight leaves a lot to be desired !
My only negative is that the hotel is looking a bit weary, net curtains need renewing and the dining room tables need re-varnishing

"Families should go elsewhere"
Disinterested and inefficient staff. Put us in wrong room (not enough beds for family). Then left FOH staff member to leave their desk and setup a new room which was clearly a compromised setup (far too small). Beds were fairly uncomfortable, WiFi pretty poor, parking was fine.
Room keys routinely deactivating. This was a poor stay and we left a day early. We have had far better experiences with premier inn at other locations. Maybe one to avoid for families.

Hotel description
Home to beautiful country views and an exciting medieval history, scenic Salisbury is an ideal place to escape to. Start your stay with a visit to Salisbury Cathedral. As well as having the tallest spire in Britain, this stunning landmark also houses one of only four original copies of the Magna Carta. Visiting the famous - and mysterious - Stonehenge is a must, and The Salisbury Museum is a great spot for history-lovers. Alternatively, you can enjoy a fun day out at Salisbury Racecourse, before returning for a tasty meal at our in-house Thyme restaurant.
