Salisbury North Bishopdown hotel

We checked in to find that the traditional dressing table and desk have been completely removed and replaced with a tiny, circular "flexi" table. This new layout is highly impractical. The plug sockets are still located high up on the wall where the old desk used to be, leaving absolutely no surface underneath them to safely place a phone, laptop, or straighteners while they charge. I know where to put your keys or change or wallet etc. When I complained, the polite receptionist explained that this was part of a new upgrade, adding that they now only keep desks for the pricier "Premier Plus" rooms. This is absolutely ludicrous! Stripping basic, essential furniture out of standard rooms is absurd. What next—removing the bathroom and calling it progress? If you stay here beware of room 121 which is the room I got. It sits directly above the main front entrance. The two internal doors in the reception area were loudly banging all through the night, straight into the early hours of the morning, making it very difficult to sleep. The room itself was fairly clean overall, with one exception: the bottom of the toilet bowl was soiled and needed a proper scrub with a loo brush before our arrival. Additionally, the television is old and not a smart TV, meaning you cannot access standard streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, or YouTube. It is a real shame because the staff were lovely and the dinner was actually quite good. I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza and we had a very nice glass of Malbec red wine. For breakfast I had a small English but gave the bacon a miss as none of it was crispy unfortunately. But hey ho you can't have everything can you. While the staff and food were great, the ridiculous removal of the work/dressing table completely ruins the usability of the room. Combined with the constant door banging in Room 121, I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. So it's 1 star from me. Thanks for reading.

Very disappointing experience. Room booked and fully paid for a room for 4 guests, and my confirmation email clearly stated that the booking was for 4 people. However, when we arrived, we were given a room with only two single (twin) beds. The reception staff insisted that their system showed only 2 guests, even after I showed them my confirmation email proving the booking was for 4 guests. They refused to acknowledge their mistake or offer a suitable solution. As a result, we had no choice but to push the beds together and make our children sleep with us, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. There was no apology, no empathy, and no effort to resolve the problem. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they improve both their booking system and the attitude of their reception staff.

first class hotel, stay just one night 12th july 2026. large car park with free parking, reg needed at reception. food amazing (mixed grill 10/10) and house wine and bottled beer top notch. large clean room, premier plus with coffee pod machine, ironing board, hair dryer,aircon, fridge, kettle and choclate. staff very friendly and helpful

Pub closed but they have their own bar and the food was good. Service good too, lovely staff. Check in is unmanned but assistance readily available. Rooms very comfortable but SOOOOOO OVER DEODORISED!!!! We asked to change rooms but the hotel was full. I’m not sure if this is actually a policy as the corridors also had this overpowering perfume. Maybe someone had been smoking in this room but it was only the perfume we could smell. Rooms had AC but we had to sleep with the window open and use a fan provided by Reception
