Salisbury North Bishopdown hotel

We stopped off here for one night on our drive home from the coast. Have to say this Premier Inn was far better than the one in Torquay! Rooms and bathroom was very clean spacious. Dining area a little small but we were only there one night so was fine for us. Good car parking which is always helpful

Hotel generally good but dining facilities verry poor dining rood not adequate for the size of hotel. menu choices not available all the time breakfast choices not available on all days has had run out of items. very poor for a Premier Inn.

Rude staff… untrained staff who can’t use computer… offered meal deal but rules seemed to change between the staff members on duty … confusion ruled… no lift!!!! Continental breakfast under stocked and disappointing… red wine at evening meal was off very acidic but rude staff refused to accept that it was off . The same staff never who didn’t know that courvoisier was a brandy! Give them a miss… good parking and water in fridge only two good points! Steak wasn’t bad … after long drive you sit in the restaurant staring at neon lights that can’t be turned off without all lighting being turned off…

Room 121 was above the entrance and staff area, there weee banging doors and what sounded like a washing machine running until 12.45 am which kept me awake. I mentioned this to the lady who had checked us in the previous afternoon and who I presume was the manager, both were not bothered at all, that I had been kept awake until 1am. Didn’t make a note and then started chatting to another person and walked away. Very rude! Breakfast was luke warm and not particularly tasty.

At first the experience was normal, we were booked in by what I think was a new member of staff under training. The lady training was a little off with the gent but all was good. We booked for dinner in the dining room, this was not an experience I would like to repeat, for a starter we had a combination of light bites some of which was coldas if it had been sat waiting, but the main meal was the kicker. I had gammon and egg, the portion was pitiful to say the least, I feel what has happened like all good places money and margin has got in the way, the rest of what should have been my meal was offered as extras I could pay for. My wife had the curry, the only thing to say about that is the 4 pieces of chicken in the bowl of makhani soup was not a curry really. This was enough to put us off eating breakfast or a main meal in the hotel again. Another example of bad service was next day we needed extra milk for the room, I went to reception was about to speak to the lady when she told me quite curtly she couldn’t book me in till 3. Nothing else not a hello or other greeting. If this is what is happening now with Premier Inn it’s days are numbered As a long user of premier inn it makes me feel quite sad.
