Salisbury North Bishopdown hotel

Room was ok . Went to the restaurant for meal and the staff were hovering over us waiting to grab the plate it was almost like they wanted us to hurry up. Overall it was ok just tell staff not to hover over

Standard of service at this hotel was poor to none existent during a 4 day stay reception was only manned on 1st night for a few hours. Notice in room asked guests to contact reception to get room serviced but reception was never manned so 1 tea bag and 2 coffee pods had to last 4 days. We planned to have breakfast on last day but could not as notice said you could only have breakfast if booked on check in. I'd avoid this premier inn as it is dire compared to usual standard and virtually unstaffed.

We payed £123.98 including breakfast for our room very comfortable but no conditioner for my wife in the shower. On arrival nobody was at reception so had to wait to be checked in not the staff’s fault as they were understaffed and the manager who was on didn’t stop and even though under pressure she was still professional. We thought this was expensive but we were attending a wedding and it was local and the hotel was fully booked. Breaking was very slow with many items not ready but once again 1 chief in the kitchen doing it all he did his best again fully packed breakfast room very cramped. I did feel sorry for the manager and all staff as they were trying their best but had many complaints as not enough staff to deal with busy hotel. Premier Inn please realise you have some great staff support them or lose them..

Lovely room, very clean, spacious. The amenities were lovely, probably one of the refurbed rooms. We did have dinner which was a bit of a mixed bag with quality. I ordered the chicken tikka skewers which looked a bit haphazard however my daughters had the ravioli which was delicious and the children’s spag Bol which was good. Breakfast was very nice. All the hot items were cooked well and fresh. The only down side was that my partner had to wait a little while for the hot food to be replenished before he got his breakfast. I can see why some people have been saying it’s a little cramped but we asked the night before when the busier times for breakfast were and went at 9.30am. Really good location for where we wanted to visit and very quiet at night. The staff that we met were all very pleasant but you could see that they were run ragged in the evenings as there appeared to be 2 members of staff expected to man the reception, bar and restaurant. Considering the amount of places they were expected to be, they did a decent job. We didn’t use the self check in as the lady was at the reception when we arrived but did notice some people having an issue with it. We went as a family and we all said we would return again.

Positives: comfy bed, clean and well decorated family room. Negatives: Limited staff/poor availability Overly direct responses from staff Self service check in issues Long wait for food at dinner (1hr) with no updates/ apologies from staff Cramped eating conditions Food sub standard and tepid once arrived. Full menu not included at breakfast, unwillingness to replenish items with an hour left of service. Some breakfast food items tepid and dried up. Have not previously had a bad experience at premier inn, considering this was listed as a premier inn plus I am very disappointed and will not be returning.
