Salisbury North Bishopdown hotel

Lovely room, very clean, spacious. The amenities were lovely, probably one of the refurbed rooms. We did have dinner which was a bit of a mixed bag with quality. I ordered the chicken tikka skewers which looked a bit haphazard however my daughters had the ravioli which was delicious and the children’s spag Bol which was good. Breakfast was very nice. All the hot items were cooked well and fresh. The only down side was that my partner had to wait a little while for the hot food to be replenished before he got his breakfast. I can see why some people have been saying it’s a little cramped but we asked the night before when the busier times for breakfast were and went at 9.30am. Really good location for where we wanted to visit and very quiet at night. The staff that we met were all very pleasant but you could see that they were run ragged in the evenings as there appeared to be 2 members of staff expected to man the reception, bar and restaurant. Considering the amount of places they were expected to be, they did a decent job. We didn’t use the self check in as the lady was at the reception when we arrived but did notice some people having an issue with it. We went as a family and we all said we would return again.

Positives: comfy bed, clean and well decorated family room. Negatives: Limited staff/poor availability Overly direct responses from staff Self service check in issues Long wait for food at dinner (1hr) with no updates/ apologies from staff Cramped eating conditions Food sub standard and tepid once arrived. Full menu not included at breakfast, unwillingness to replenish items with an hour left of service. Some breakfast food items tepid and dried up. Have not previously had a bad experience at premier inn, considering this was listed as a premier inn plus I am very disappointed and will not be returning.

I know that Prem Inn sold off all adjoining restaurants so I expected things to be a bit different at breakfast. I'll come onto that shortly. First the positives. Rooms look like had a refurb and are now smarter in design, upmarket materials used and much improved bathrooms and shower gels/soaps. Beds are extremely comfy! Handy location for Salisbury - just remember to punch in your vehicle reg on arrival to register it. So to my experience of one night stay. I arrived last Friday at 2040 having been at relatives all day down the road. No-one was o the check in desk so I followed the self check-in easy enough. However, I could not locate my room (204) in the main building after wandering about a little! I went back to reception area and sure enough a guy was there who pointed out to nit just myself but another couple that their room was also in the second building - neither of us could see a sign advising this. Anyway we went outside and followed him. First thing to point out - it needs far more lighting between the 2 buildings as it is really badly lit. I went to breakfast on the Saturday morning. Now Beefeater is closed it is in a smaller bar/food area. It was rather chaotic to say the least. No bacon was out for 10 mins prob more, things needed refreshing on the pastries area. Staff were going into the kitchen and because the area is open to the serving hatch every word could be heard! It wasn't an inviting area to be in at all and very congested by the now much smaller serving area of the hot food. I would consider an alternative hotel when next visiting family there as it is a 160 mile drive. I think t needs a visit from the Prem Inn customer service dept which is what I will recommend when I contact them directly.

Great location, relaxed atmosphere, Main building rooms are perfect. If you have a ground floor room in the added accommodation then prepare to be kept wake as the ceilings are thin and you can hear every movement and footstep. Sounds like elephants wandering around.

I brought my elderly Mother here. I sent a message to ensure we had a ground floor room, as she has limited mobility. We were provided with this, twin beds and a wet room. This was sizeable and in good condition. We could also park right outside in a disabled bay. The location was perfect for the two nights, so we could visit and explore Salisbury and the surrounding area. The staff were helpful, especially Natalie when it came to breakfast, as I have food intolerances. The food was great, with such a wide choice. I've been here before and wouldn't hesitate to return. The price of the stay was a little more than we had budgeted for, but I feel it is worth it as we know the quality of Premier Inn North Bishopdown. It's difficult to criticise anything, but the fan in the wet room wasn't working and we struggled to adjust the air con to suit our requirements.
