"Ok"
We stayed only 1 night as we were travelling the next day. Room was comfortable and clean. Check in was easy. Staff were friendly enough. We had booked breakfast for the next day in the brewers fayre next door... That'll be in another review. Might stay again if we're down that way again.
"Premier Plus Room Impressive"
We'd inadvertently booked a Premier Plus room but on arrival we were really pleased by our error, as it was definitely worth paying a bit extra for. The room itself was extremely spacious and had additional features such as a fridge (with two bottles of water in), a Nespresso coffee machine, and luxury toiletries. It also had a normal-size hairdryer although it's worth mentioning that was touch-sensitive; I'd never come across one like before and there's nothing to tell you it is, so initially I thought it was broken when it kept cutting out as I used it! The letters on the handle highlighting the touch-sensitive section are not at all obvious. We were also glad the Plus room had air-con, as we were staying during a heatwave! Although the window did open, too. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and overall it was very clean. We also ate in the Brewers Fayre the night we arrived, in the pleasant seating area outside, and the food was good. Likewise breakfast was really good, with a decent selection and good quality. Staff were also ensuring nothing ran out, which was great. We slept well, although on the Saturday morning we were woken early by the glass bins outside the Brewers Fayre being emptied. All in all we were very impressed and had a great stay; the only reason it's not 5 stars is the price as £150 per night was a little bit expensive we thought, albeit that was for the Plus room as it turned out. That said, we would still definitely recommend the Plus rooms here, and the overall experience.
"Great value for money!"
Stopped here for one night and had a lovely stay. Fan was set up for our arrival and we all found the room cool enough to sleep, my children slept really well. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff on reception and again received a warm welcome in the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast was great. Possibly the bathroom could do with a little updating but for what we paid cannot fault it all. Thank you.
"Hot hot hot! Great Friendly Staff"
Warm and friendly welcome at reception. Room was too hot overnight and I only managed to get three hours sleep. I knew there wouldn’t be air con but didn’t expect it to be like a sauna. Staff know it’s hot which is why there are no duvets on the beds. It wasn’t even warm outside. They did provide a fan which I am grateful for.
"Excellent staff and breakfast made the stay"
Location. Very easy to find with massive car park. Room. Clearly a very old and well used building. Minimally furnished room with no fridge or safe and very surprisingly no telephone either meaning a walk to reception to report any issues. Breakfast. In a Brewers Fayre a few minutes walk away back through the car park. I wouldn't fancy the walk in pouring rain but luckily for us it was dry. Ate here the evening before and it was very busy and rather chaotic so I wasn't expecting great things at breakfast. As it was, breakfast was completely different and quite a pleasant experience. General. The designated smoking area is right by the entrance to the hotel for some reason which I have to say isn't a very good look, or smell, at all. The hotel itself could do with a complete refurb and quite a deep clean. Ending on a positive note, all the staff were excellent, in particular the guy on reception at check-in, the guy at the bar in the Brewers Fayre and the guy running the breakfast service. Sorry didn't get your names but I'm sure you know who you are. Would I stay here again? Probably if the rate was good and for the breakfast.
