"Outstanding Reception reaction to issues with room."
The Premier Inn in Chippenham is ideally situated just off of the M4 corridor and my visits in the past have been most comfortable and enjoyable.
I’ve found that the rooms have always been very clean and ordered, and present a classic Premier Inn welcome. This time, however, my allocated rooms bathroom extractor fan made the most appalling noise, an LED ceiling light over the bath/shower gave an accompanying disco angle to the experience! Additionally, the crystal low level bathroom night light wasn’t working, and to cap it all, when adjusting the rain shower fitment spray angle, if fell off on my head !
This was a most unusual series of issues to me, so I reported the matter in full at the reception, and was promised that someone was due on site and would address the problem that day ( Sunday 21st June 2026). Sadly that didn’t happen, for a variety of frustrating although understandable reasons.
Monday 22nd, however, found a young man called Cory on reception that morning, whom I spoke to after having breakfast. For the information of fellow users of Premier Inns, I gleaned from enquiries, that any faults or room issues reported to reception should cause an entry to be made at the top of the room page, and should be handed over to the next shift reception staff, if not resolved that day.
Cory immediately took on the responsibility of getting the room sorted out asap, and asked if he could accompany me back to the room, as he had a spare night light in reception , and could replace that immediately. He noted the fan noise, and explained that it was one of the remaining first generation extractors which were being replaced asap, as the bearings were drying out, but it was simply a case of fitting the maintenance in around room availability. He had found a spare shower rain head and immediately replaced it , and adjusted the fan speed to reduce the noise factor.
Cory displayed to me the perfect way to deal with a customers complaint about room electrical issues. He has to arrange for an electrician to perform some tasks, but bulb replacement can be effected immediately, and he displayed the same conscientiousness that I employed in my police career, to help people and fly the flag. He is certainly someone that management need to be thankful for, as he single-handedly turned my disappointment into a pleasure of having someone who really cared, looking after me. That’s extremely ambassadorial for Premier Inns, hands on, sensible, practical solving of everyday issues. Management, please recognise this, and ensure Cory’s efforts are acknowledged. Thank you.

"Nice PI in the middle of nowhere"
Great clean hotel. Modernised throughout and even had a fan in the room without having to ask for one. Very thoughtful PI and top marks for thinking out of the box!

Stayed for a family event, great location and easy to get too.
Outstanding service from the HM (tony) and Alisha. They were very professional and answered any questions i had.
Quick and efficient, nothing seemed too much trouble, overall they are both a credit to premier inn and i hope my gratitude reaches both of them 🤗🤗
