Wakefield City North hotel

I stayed the the Premier inn with my family having travelled for a charity event in the area. We met with other families who had all booked the same hotel as part of the same large group. The staff in both the hotel and adjoining restaurant were exceptional. Jack on reception and Lianne the manger were particularly keen to ensure that our large group were welcomed and well looked after. Aware of the size of our group, Lianne ensured enough staff in the restaurant so we could eat together as they are particularly short staffed following the recent changes to the company. It was evident how over stretched they were, but they ensured this has no impact on our experience. Lianne allowed us to re-order our meals and even visited our hotel room when we had some queries about some of the meal options so ensure it was all sorted. During our evening meal all of the staff could not have done more for us. The food was well cooked and hot and the drinks were brought to our table. I really cannot speak highly enough of this team of staff who evidently go above and beyond. Thank you again Lianne and the whole team, we wont hesitate to return after your dedication.

From the moment we walked in the staff on the front desk where great, we had a laugh as we got our rooms sorted and got all our bags in and helped get the meal deals sorted for dinner. Great first impression! The rooms we had were very clean and comfy. We went for dinner and Jo was so helpful in getting our meals sorted and working out the extras prices for items. Food was lovely and the mixed grill was very tasty and cooked well. Meal deal is great value for money. The hotel was super quiet and no noise in the rooms, great location for a hotel.

Used this Premier Inn to visit family who live locally for a few years now. However will definetley have to look at other options. Brewers Fayre next to it is now closed to non Premier Inn guests. Range of food and drink has reduced drastically. Other options are a curry restaurant over the road. Believe me you'd sweat it out staying here! Rooms don't have air conditioning, no cooling other than a small fan. Windows hardly open due to restrictors. If they advertised it as a sauna then they might attract guests!! What a shame, Whitbread, who own Premier Inn, don't want guests to have a relaxing drink and food with non residents at this Premier Inn.

We've stayed here many times and it's always a pleasure. The staff are friendly and helpful. We eat in the adjoining brewers fayre and again the service and staff are lovely.

Hotel attached to a pub restaurant which was closing down 2 days after our stay , did not have half the items on the menu or even any bitter beer .we were not made aware of this when booking , if we had have been would have booked elsewhere . As i use premier inn for work will seriously reconsider when staying away in future
