Pontefract North hotel

Had a wonderful time at pontefract premier inn , staff were very friendly and sue made my daughters 21st birthday extra special , we have been going here for 9 years , ate at restaurant for 3 nights and were very accommodating for our 2. Year toddler

This Premier Inn is in a very shabby state, everywhere needs a new coat of paint, the carpet is worn and looks dirty, the rooms are the same and the facilities are extremely limited if you are staying for more than 1 night. The bathrooms look in need of a severe deep clean, dirty grouting around tiles, dirt on the runners and the actual shower doors. No cupboards, no mini fridges that other Premier Inn's have the bedding was worn too. The breakfast was upsold to us when we checked in, we agreed to have it the following morning to see what it was like, we were so glad that we had only booked for one morning as this was served in a rundown adjacent bar (due to close in Sept '26) where the quality of food was questionable, I had the continental and my husband had the Full English breakfast, there were no labels on any of the cereals etc, the coffee from a machine was illegibly americano however I heard other customers say the same about all the other kinds of coffee too! The fried food was lukewarm and inedible, which is saying a lot as my husband eats most things. The only redeeming element of the stay was that the staff were exceptional, they were so helpful, understanding and courteous too.

The stay at the premier inn Pontefract was very good clean very warm welcome. We had breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant both were very tasty highly recommend

A good overall impression of the hotel and pub attached, it was clean and very well kept. The room itself for 4 people was very tight but I guess that's just how it goes. The biggest of disappointment for us all was that...in this very small room of 4 people and with a window that only opened about 3 inch . Was that the room never dropped below 29 degrees at any point. The hotel did provide a fan but was the cheapest fan possible I think it did nothing what do ever to cool any part of the room down. Fair enough it was a very hot few days but this room temp of not having any air con was extremely uncomfortable night sleep for us all. We also over heard the next door complaining about this very same issue and also someone else at the front desk too upon check out. This alone was enough to put me off staying here again. We expect alot better from premier inn and fell way short of expectations

The bathroom was a bit tired with the curtain missing several hooks. Otherwise it was fine for a one night stay in a family room. Breakfast next door was fine.
