Pontefract North hotel

A good overall impression of the hotel and pub attached, it was clean and very well kept. The room itself for 4 people was very tight but I guess that's just how it goes. The biggest of disappointment for us all was that...in this very small room of 4 people and with a window that only opened about 3 inch . Was that the room never dropped below 29 degrees at any point. The hotel did provide a fan but was the cheapest fan possible I think it did nothing what do ever to cool any part of the room down. Fair enough it was a very hot few days but this room temp of not having any air con was extremely uncomfortable night sleep for us all. We also over heard the next door complaining about this very same issue and also someone else at the front desk too upon check out. This alone was enough to put me off staying here again. We expect alot better from premier inn and fell way short of expectations

The bathroom was a bit tired with the curtain missing several hooks. Otherwise it was fine for a one night stay in a family room. Breakfast next door was fine.

Firstly, the welcome we received from a female member was a warm and refreshing 5 middle-aged gentleman. She found a large table,she was very professional and knowledgeable. We paid for breakfast, she told us her name was becky and would show us where tea,coffee, cold juice was and if we needed anything please ask,breakfast was good hot, There is plenty of choice hot and cold , The waitress becky kept asking if everything was OK whist cleaning table from guests leaving the restaurant, she was so polite and well presented a true professional.

Room was very poor. Stains on curtains, carpets, walls, dirty mark in shower. Furniture was old and damage. Corridors were dirty. The worst Premier Inn we have stayed in. Then the breakfast. Continental breakfast poor selection and looked awful. When we complained we were asked to leave for being rude!

We arrived a few hours early than our book in time and asked the receptionist if we could check in and she said not at the moment because 2 of the staff had rang in sick..we said ok she said that if it was ready early she would ring me so we went for a walk and came back oh she says it is ready I forgot to ring you.so then I wasn't to pleased and wasn't keen on her attitude either no apology. We got into our room and had no lighting so went back into reception and she gave me a electric card but never explained we're it went so figured that one out myself why didn't she give it to me when we booked in so I was annoyed than .the room ok but tired could do with a fresh coat of paint there was a empty drinks can in the corner behind a chair. But the rest of the room was clean..we won't be returning 😕
