Leeds Headingley hotel

We had a good overnight stay at this Premier Inn on Headingley’s “main drag”. Although we were visiting for other reasons, it’d be a great location if you’d come to watch cricket. I’d accidentally booked an accessible room. We didn’t need it but it is really well equipped for wheelchair users. Easy access into the bathroom and everything in there would be at the right height. Even the bed is lower than PI’s usual one. Air con worked well on a particularly hot day and night. Storage is a bit lacking, even for one night - there’s decent clothes hanging space but not even a shelf for other clothes, like underwear, so they had to stay in the case. Breakfast was fine – I’d read a couple of Tripadvisor reviews that had given concern but everything was as you expect on a PI buffet. Maybe they’d read the criticism and taken action. Would certainly stay again if in the area.

Very good location, extremely clean bedroom and bathroom, very comfortable bed, secured corridors and lifts, The staff on duty when I went was very professional, welcoming and efficient.

Hotel is really lovely but understaffed. Just a small wait to check in, as the new self check in machines were not working. I would happily stay here again as the hotel has very good free parking and in a great position. My only complaint is the breakfast. I know it’s only £10.99 each, which is excellent value in today’s money, but…. no matter how much you pay, you do expect the food to be at hot. Food was cool / Luke warm at best. This included eggs, bacon and sausage. Fried slice was cold. Beans ok Eggs swimming in fat. Tried to mention to waiter, but he was hardly ever there as he seemed to rushed off his feet, and spent most of his time in the kitchen. My wife is a vegetarian , but chef advised us that veggie sausages are cooked to order and take at least 10 minutes. Didn’t want to wait as my breakfast was already cool. Tried to report to central customer service by email, but they are not interested and just referred me back to complain to the hotel in their reply. My advice is DO stay in the hotel, but DON’T have the breakfast option. There is a Greggs or Sainsbury’s just 100 yards away. 😎

This hotel is good value for money with lots of free parking. The area has shops and restaurants and easy access by bus or car to the centre of Leeds. The room was large and comfortable. Unfortunately, the cleaning needs improvement. The sink and bath weren't perfectly clean and there were stains on the headboard.

Premier Inns are very reliable for consistency of what they offer. We were visiting a grandson at the University and this P.I. is ideal as there is a very frequent bus service down to the University campus. Car parking is easy and we can leave the car for the duration of our stay. For a short stay there is everything that one could need.
