Leeds Headingley hotel

Excellent poached eggs. Such a hard bed and pillows. Uncomfortable nights sleep. Friendly staff. Same member of staff doing several things, meant people had to wait to give their room numbers for breakfast, as no staff available.

The bed was dreadful no matters topper on a bed that was made of two singles and the edges on the singles meant a very bad night sleep I would not recommend this hotel

I'm just reading the previous review (2*!) for this Premier Inn and wondered if we stayed at the same place. Our friends deemed it "the best Premier Inn we've ever stayed in"! Spotless and sizeable "Plus" room with a really nice bathroom. Nice staff. Self check in worked perfectly. We followed vans up and down the ramp to the car park and they (or us) had no issues. (PS if you really can't drive properly - don't stay here - but ask yourself if you should be let loose on a public highway). Car park is free (which isn't always the case with budget chains these days). Breakfast was particularly good. Booked a few months in advance and it was an absolute bargain. We went to and from the city - three times by bus and once by taxi and it's quick and cheap Can't wait to come back.

We (my wife and I) arrived at the hotel at 8:30pm to find the narrowest of entryways to the car park - not at all easy to navigate and not damage our vehicle. TBH, if I was staying more than the planned one night and had to use the entry several times a day, I would have checked out again on that basis alone). Check in via the Self Service machine in Reception - though actually done by the helpful staff for us. On arriving at our room, neither room key would open the door - so back to the desk to get them recoded - and then we were in our spacious, clean and well appointed Premier Plus room. (which for some odd reason was a disabled one, and we are not). Then we discovered there was only one set of towels. So back to the front desk for another set. We also had issues with - no heat available form the A/C unit (and I am an engineer so know I was operating it correctly!), a very loose toilet seat (dangerously so for a disabled person) and finally, when we did get to bed, found that at 5’11”, my ankles and feet hung over the end of the bed. (Two single beds pushed together, so plenty wide enough but weirdly too short). Final issue, found int the morning - great Nespresso machine - but no decaff coffee pods for it, only caffeinated. (Yet in standard rooms there are always sachets of both available). Breakfast was in the in-house Thyme restaurant - well up to the usual standards. Check out was quick and easy - drop the keys in the box. There were no staff in reception - doing breakfast - and we were in a hurry so left without further comment to the staff re the other issues we had. And therein lies the rub. I have written to Premier Inns about the issues and twice been told that I didn’t report any of the issues and that none of the issues were verifiable as we left without comment. I fully understand the “we left without comment aspects” - but two issues were reported. And the rest are (or were) verifiable. So. Will I use Premier Inns again? Not this one no. Others - yes as I use them two or three times a year, different ones and have never had this scale or type of issues before. Buyer beware. Report everything and anything.

I would highly recommend staying here staff were amazing especially the manager she went above and beyond made my daughters 21st birthday even more memorable thank you so much for your kindness and for a wonderful stay breakfast 10/10 lots to choose from and our room was clean tidy beds comfortable even better a huge bath would highly recommend and definitely stay again I’d give 10 ⭐️ if I could 😊
