Leeds City Centre (Whitehall Road) hotel

We had a great night's stay at the Premier Inn Whitehall Road, in Leeds, we stayed in a Premier plus room, the room was very clean, and had all the extras like kettle, coffee machine, iron, fridge etc. The shower was a rainfall one which was very good. The bed was very comfortable, we had a great night's sleep, very quiet on the 7th floor. We ordered the meal deal, and both meals were, very nice. Only one downside the hotel doesn't have it's own car park, so being in the city centre, and having to pay for 24hrs, was prices.

This hotel and staff ruined our anniversary. Being cooked in you own rooms whilst management are override the room stat and air conditioning in the middle of a heatwave. When the issue was brought to the attention they would apologise only to continue doing it hours later. The room was grainy and grimy with bed leaving you tossing and turning all night The bathroom constantly floodeddue to a leak but the staff just didn't care. Ruined our whole trip, so disappointed.

So our (a couple) experience was mixed. Good location, friendly staff and clean and safe. It is clearly very new and felt it. Not good was we asked for room to be cleaned before 12 noon as they ask and it wasn't. But the bigger issue was on Thursday night (Aug 20th) we checked what time they stopped serving food and was advised 09:30. However, when we went down to eat we was advised that the restaurant was closed. We asked about this and was advised before they had had a walk in group of 5 they now had to close the restaurant. We explained we were guests and had purposely asked what time it closed and was advised 09:30 and it was only 09:15. Sadly the staff member just kept repeating their illogical reason it was because they now had a walk in etc etc. We said that we weren't told it closed at 09:30 depending on how many people were in the restaurant!! Really poor service especially as guests for 3 nights.

Nice city centre location, short walk from the train station and main shops and restaurants. Very clean and tidy, quiet for sleeping and not busy at breakfast. Callum at reception was particularly helpful and friendly, very chatty and welcoming.
