"Friendly, helpful, clean and convenient"
Premier Inn in central Huddersfield is an average priced chain but the staff are so helpful that it transcends the ££. It’s close to the town centre and the university.
The room kettle even fits under the sink tap! This is so rare that it deserves comment!
Sheets are crisp and clean, the heatwave meant we were even provided extra towels on request.
There is nothing superfluous costing guests money, like choccies on pillows or folded corners on toilet rolls so you’re only paying for what you need.
The helpful staff are the icing on the cake.

"A pleasant break in a large town alongside a canal."
The rooms were clean, a decent size with TV, hairdryer, hand soap and shower gel provided. The beds were really comfortable. The only slight issue was traffic noise, our rooms were close to a road, but it did not stop us sleeping.
We had the 'meal deal', breakfast and evening meal. Breakfast; reasonable choice, well cooked and all you can eat, drinks included.
The evening meals were not quite up to the same standard nor as good as they used to be before the reorganisation.
However, at the price, still represents good value.
All the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. I have to make a special mention of Jordan who took our booking over the phone and Shoaib who looked after us in the restaurant and in reception.

"Acceptable for a night but not worth the money when there is another one not far away and £30 cheaper for the night"
On the hole a fairly decent hotel however the room we stayed in, in the annex was a little dated and not to the Premier inn’s normal standard. The room was icy cold on a fairly cold day and took quite a while to warm up.
There was such a strong smell of bleach which burnt my eyes and made them water.
The old shower curtain was ineffective and left the floor with pools of water (yes, it was inside the bath)

"lovely hotel"
The location was brilliant for the town centre which was a short walk away with lots of shops. The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed and very chilled. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable beds. we had room number 3 which had lots of space. the price was good we chose the meal deal option which was breakfast and evening meal with the evening meal you get either a starter or main dish or main dish and dessert we chose main meal and desert we wanted fish and chips but they had no fish so we had bolognaise and fruit salad I must say we always stay with premier inn but the selection of meal has gone down. The room was very clean and comfortable the service was brilliant by all the staff would return

"Dire and smelly"
Room had this small noise making machine in it which is supposed to make it less smelly. Doesn't work and nor does opening the window. Most of the hotel smells the same.
Restaurant has been closed to none residents and the choice and quality is truly awful. Wouldn't be so bad but any alternative is a long walk.
Car is very small and cramped difficult to park a normal sized car work vans would be impossible.
Still only £150 a night
