Huddersfield Central hotel

This hotel is in a fantastic location. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant were really friendly. The food was also great. Would definitely recommend.

The location is a short walk to the town centre and sits next to the canal. The room we had was nice clean and tidy. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a member of staff called Jorden, who served us at the bar and for breakfast and we would like to say that he was superb, friendly, and had a great attitude towards hospitality. He made our stay very pleasurable and he's a credit to Huddersfield Premier Inn. It's just a shame that Premier Inn nationwide are restricting there bar and eating areas to just residents of the hotel. This in turn is vastly reducing the variety of drinks available at the bar. We're returning customers and will continue to use this hotel in future visits to the area.

Book on line then wait at an unmanned reception for a member of staff to appear, to get the keys, when greeted, after two rings of the buzzer in reception greeted by a very pleasant team member. Room was shabby with evidence of mould on the wooden windows, the upper parts of the top window, cracks in the plaster around the window, blind that is black with mould at the edges and frayed, the bathroom flooring is badly stained and the skirting boards in need of paint. No socket to charge a phone without carrying a plug as well as the cable. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable enough bed. Breakfast was an embarrassment with grey scrambled eggs, poor quality bacon and sausage, ran out of milk for the coffee machine and a struggle to find a clean glass for the orange juice.

I had the pleasure here to be served by excellent staff from the moment of check, evening meal and breakfast. The breakfast staff were excellent a special mention to Mario, the chef, who cooked perfect poached eggs as well as the whole cooked breakfast. additionally the server, Ray was very engaging finding time to chat to guests as well as serve and take orders. He was very efficient and polite. Mario made an extra effort to ensure all guests were happy and at the end of breakfast ensured noone needed anything else from the kitchen, a very personal touch. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable

Normally I receive ne email asking for feedback after visiting a Premier Inn but on this occasion in Huddersfield in February 2026 I didn't - so here it is Currently this Premier Inn is being refurbished and therefore the Public House attached is not fully functioning - just breakfast and then open from 5 for a slightly restricted menu but still ok and fabulously prepared by Mario Mario, Ray/Rav, Jess, Jake and David are fabulous - We mete David when he first started a number of years ago at Premier Inn. The housekeeping staff - sorry no names and reception again might have missed a name were all great All staff need to be given a 10 out of 10 This hotel is ideally situated for the volunteer work I do at Heritage Quay - just across the road and a short walk along the canal side
