Huddersfield Central hotel

I’m giving 4 out of 5 and I’m torn as many parts are really less than this, let me explain… Some of the service we received was and is fantastic. I have to mention Ray who is just an absolute credit to you. He is so warm, friendly, kind and helpful. Mario the chef, his breakfasts are so fresh and cleanly cooked and he is lovely. Also Jordan who consistently gives great friendly service and has a good sense of humour. These guys make up for the hotels not so good parts! I have also noticed that service and attention on that front seemed to have upped recently. When I arrived at the hotel late, without a key as my husband and kids had checked in earlier without me. The reception staff questioned me at length and made all necessary checks to ensure I was in that room before issuing me a key. Whilst mildly annoying, I completely respected and appreciated what they were doing as is so important to have right security around this. It’s the actual hotel itself is what lets it down. It’s very tired and in need of a refurb which is apparently due but seems to keep getting pushed back. Come on Premier Inn! Your staff are working hard to maintain service but it must be so hard for them when the hotel itself is far from up to scratch! Also having stayed in this and many Premier Inns for a number of years, I do not sleep well anymore. The mattresses are just not the same level of comfort as they once were and the pillows are like bricks! I always seem to wake up in the early hours with a sore neck. Please can you update on when the renovation is to happen and what is to be expected. Thank-you!

Fantastic location lovely calm atmosphere with very friendly staff especially Ray. Good value for money. The rooms were clran n tidy I would definitely stay here again

Great location in the heart of Huddersfield. Customer service was 10 out of 10, with a friendly receptionist called Jess who gave us a warm welcome and quick check in process. She was also knowledgeable about the area and gave us directions to local areas within the city centre. Quality of breakfast was also good and cooked breakfast was brought out promptly. We were served by Ray, who took care of all our needs and regularly came to check on us to see if we needed anything. The chef also came out to ask us if our food was OK for us and it was. I was really impressed with customer service and it makes this hotel stand out from other Premier Inns I have stayed in.

The staff have been amazing they all have gone above and beyond for us all I can’t thank them enough. Ray who does the breakfast time is amazing very polite and is always helpful. Staff on main desk are always very friendly and always asking if we need anything thank you all so much xx

the workers have brilliant manors helpful asking if the food was good and if they could help us the rooms are nice and the beds are super comfortable ray has been such a delight and i couldn’t ask for anything better and i would definitely come again
