"Brilliant customer service but system issues in Halifax"
I've recently been to Premier Inn Town Centre twice last week and this. On two occasions I have been brilliantly helped at reception, by a young woman called Millie in very difficult circumstances. On the first occasion it took nearly an hour to book me in and I think that was because I made a couple of slips in that time typing info in on a mobile phone which many people find difficult, including me. Millie was brilliantly patient, helping to do some of the typing with great efficiency, all the while thinking about me as an individual, needing a bit of support to get a booking done. Her patience was saintly and eventually she got the job done. All the while, a fire alarm that needed fixing was intermittently going of right next to her and she didn't miss her stride once. This was amazing. Again, I visited today and found Millie working in her usual cheerful manner, being just as helpful as previously. While I was trying to give feedback to yourselves about my stay I noticed that the internet connection in the foyer seemed weakest at the reception desk. I find that hard to believe - wouldn't the place you'd want the signal to be strongest be in reception, so you get customers in as quickly as possible? It must be an issue for people there who are trying to do there job efficiently. Finally I had to leave the building to finish doing feedback with trip adviser and I only had one phone with me which meant that after I'd spent some considerable time accessing trip advisor and needed to typed in an access code that was emailed to me, I couldn't because, well because I couldn't work out how to do it - I've tried to do it before and failed repeatedly because leaving an app to get an access code from an email seems to close the app which starts sending me round in circles. You will see I have made the effort to send the feedback because I want Millie's excellent efforts to be rewarded. I also wanted to give you feedback on your systems to see if they can be improved. Too often when comms and other tech system are at issue, the comms seems to be the customer and the customers and the company employees can all go to hell. This is the wrong way round. Could you please try to sort it. By the way, I still love the hotel. The views in particular, are fantastic. Thankyou for an excellent stay.

"Avoid the first floor"
1st floor boy oh boys what a mistake. The noise from the vents outside was horrific
The rest of the room was fine just wish we could have slept

"Disappointing"
Queues at self service check in, full of people struggling with the procedure and no one available or willing to help, was not a good start. Lack of staff - or available staff - something of a theme. We asked where to find extra tea bags, the staff member just barked "by the lift" - no attempt to make us welcome at all. The sink was blocked in our room on arrival, but given the lack of staff around, the ones who were showing no interest in the guests, we opted to just put up with it and washed our hands over the bath.

"Concert stay"
Walking distance to the Piece Hall. Very comfortable bed and clean room. All the staff were exceptional. Very friendly and welcoming. We’ve been here before and will definitely stay again.

"Excellent"
This was my first time in Halifax. I visited to go to a concert at The Piece Hall.
I would say,'Do not hesitate to book this premier inn.
As a solo traveller, it was really comfortable here.
The room was perfect and the restaurant The Beefeater was brilliant!
Staff called Will was really attentive, and offered me excellent customer service. Thank you, Will. He also managed the bar.
The menu was so good in the evening and the breakfast was equally brilliant. Best hash browns I've tasted. I just wish I had ordered more. Chef, you are good!
The location is about 10 to 15 minutes from Halifax train station. I didn't get a taxi or cab. I walked, and you actually walk past the The Piece Hall so that was helpful.
Landmark if you decide to walk is,past the Burger King, towards the bus station. Look out for The Vue cinema building and Premier inn is in front of it.
You have to cross a busy road, with traffic lights.
The Piece Hall is nice and I saw Skunk anansie and Garbage. Brilliant.
I highly recommend this premier inn.
It ticked all the good boxes for me.
