"Rooms not checked before new guests check in"
Great location but overpriced. Room smelt badly of smoke and so moved. Second room only one towel. Kept having to wait for unfriendly receptionist to come in from cigarette break. Premier Inn is an overpriced shadow of its former self.

"Close to the Piece Hall"
We came for the night for the 80's music concert mid-Aug. Usually very happy with a Premier Inn, but quite a lot of issues in our room re cleanliness and upkeep.
Check-in was easy.
Carpets in hallways were a little worn on each door way and different in our hallway.
As per the pictures, mould in the grout on the edges of the bath, paint peeling due to damp under the sink, the chair was BADLY stained, (I would never have sat on that chair - DISGUSTING!!!). The pillow case had 3 black marks and finally under the pictures the wall was badly damaged with a botched repair.
Otherwise great location to the Piece Hall

"A really good stay, with a few things that could be improved"
I stayed here for three nights and overall had a really good experience.
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were brilliant and really friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was. I knew there were family rooms on the same floor, but I honestly heard very little noise during my stay.
I didn't eat at the hotel, although I did have a few drinks at the Beefeater in the evenings.
There were a few things that I think could be improved. The choice of drinks in the room was a little limited, and I think a small fridge and safe would be useful additions. I also didn't notice any USB charging sockets.
The TV remote was soooo delayed! It could take forever for the TV to respond when changing channels, and even muting it when my phone rang could be a bit of a struggle.
The bathroom extraction fan in room 202 wasn't working. My sister was staying in room 205 and hers wasn't working either, so that's probably worth checking.
The seating in reception was also an issue. Some of the seats had been taken by kids and hadn't been replaced, so there wasn't really anywhere to sit while waiting at reception.
Parking is very close to the hotel, which is handy, but it is a private car park rather than Premier Inn's and worked out at around £15 a day. That's quite expensive when staying for several days.
Despite those little issues, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily stay here again. The things I've mentioned are more suggestions for improvement than major complaints.

"Very poor for amount paid"
The room was very tied looking with holes and marks on the walls and peeling paint.
The bed was not very comfortable and we were woken up in the early hours by screaming, shouting and banging from the room above which went on for a couple of hours.
We spoke to reception in the morning who said there was nothing reported by the night porter who walks round every hour and they didn’t offer us any way to resolve the issue or how to make a complaint.
Very poor for the amount paid and has unfortunately put us off booking with Premiere Inn again.

"Great location, friendly staff."
Great location for the centre of town as visiting the Piece Centre.
Although in the centre it was very quiet.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
