Castleford (Xscape, M62 J32) hotel

The room was fine in general. Typical Premier Inn with decent facilities and comfortable beds. The bathroom wasn't as clean as my previous visits though. The first night we stayed we had a terrible sleep as it was very warm and stuffy due to the air conditioning failing. The windows are sealed so there was no way of getting fresh air in the room. The next day that was thankfully remedied and the air conditioning was fine. The next problem was the hot water system failed resulting on cold showers on the second day. I went to reception and eventually convinced the member of staff I was operating the shower correctly! She was very hesitant and kept saying noone else was having any trouble but that really wasn't the point! It was slightly patronising. Overall it wasn't the best experience I've had with Premier Inn considering it wasn't particularly cheap in the first place. I'd expect hot water as a bare minimum without the staff making out if was a hassle to rectify the fault. Rather disappointing overall.

Staying away is always a bit of a pain but the team at Premier Inn Castleford make it far more bearable. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and we were lucky enough to be looked after by Terri at dinner. She was very friendly and attentive, made some great recommendations and noting was too much trouble. A real standout member of staff, which is difficult as they are all good but Terri managed it.

Was met with a very friendly receptionist who made us feel very welcome. In fact every single staff member we encountered couldn’t do enough for us. The lady in the restaurant went above and beyond when my friend said she was gluten free. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would happily stay there again

Lovely staff lovely and clean throughout the building - the room was cleaned by Adam it was spotless !! Would definitely return.

⭐ 0/5 Premier Inn Castle ford is an absolute joke. I went in politely to ask if my iPad had been handed in, since I’d tracked it there and it said it was on the left hand side of the hotel ( no where near my room) turns out it was in the laundry room and had apparently been wrapped up within the bedsheet as if they wouldn’t feel the weight and realise there was something in the bedsheet. They apparently heard it ringing when they went into the laundry room when they went in more like you’ve hid it in there to hide the fact you’ve nicked it, even when I said what is down to the left hand side is there any offices or any rooms it could’ve been left or handed into they said “there’s nothing down there but rooms no toilets no nothing no where it could be”. Instead of even basic manners, the receptionist spoke to me like crap — called me “stupid” for apparently leaving it on the bed (when it was 100% on the bedside table) and then tried to twist it like I was accusing her staff of stealing it well if you were honest with me this would’ve never happened instead of lying about what was down to the left of the hotel cos you knew my iPad was there never said that to their face by the way, I couldn’t have been any nicer if I tried) Absolutely ridiculous She was rude and so unprofessional it left my 14-year-old in tears. Imagine being such a horrible woman that you make a child cry over a simple lost-property question. Pathetic service, disgusting attitude. Avoid this joke of a hotel.
