"Special thanks for excellent service."
Regular visitor to the hotel so don't normally leave a review but wanted to say a special thanks to Laila and Annabel on this occasion. We had a little issue with our room but the girls were quick to react and sorted everything out for us within 10 minutes. They acted with complete professionalism and with a smile. Thanks again Laila and Annabel.

"Well located, typical Premier Inn with excellent front of house staff"
You know what you are going to get when you book in to a Premier Inn - a good bed (just like the adverts promise), the slightly unnerving purple carpet, and a location that is usually pretty good for transport links. Like all popular hotels the room fixtures and fittings sometimes show the signs of hard use by the over tired, over enthusiastic or just over refreshed and this is where you need good staff on site to sort out any glitches. Huge shout out then to Annabel and Laila who sorted out my 'room malfunction' with charm and calm efficiency while also tending the bar and waitressing in the restaurant and probably half a dozen other jobs that I didn't see.

"Find somewhere else to stay"
Awful hotel. Rooms substandard. The website says there are double and kingsize beds available when kingsize beds are only in the accessible rooms. The cleaniness isn't great. The staff, however, are friendly, especially Annabel who was extremely helpful

"Understaffed, undersupplied"
During the worst heat wave the UK has experienced, we checked into this hotel to take advantage of the air conditioning. However, their system is designed to shut off during the day (I understand why they don't want to air condition rooms while they are unoccupied), which necessitated three trips to the front desk to get them to turn it back on. When it was on, it worked a treat, but it also shut off overnight (or turned down or something) because I woke up in a sweat more than once.
The food is average, but since I didn't want to venture out to eat, we booked the Meal Deal package (dinner and breakfast). A large wedding party was there when we were, and the hotel ran out of Sauvignon Blanc before I got to the bar. The next day they still had not restocked, as one young man told me they did that only once a week (and apparently it wasn't that day!) Breakfast had a similar problem (the wedding party must be hungry folks) and they were out of juice and yogurt when we arrived. Fortunately, they replenished the supplies when I asked them to do so.
You can't fault the staff--everyone I encountered seemed to be doing two or three jobs, and since the hotel was full, they were stretched to the max. But they were all courteous, despite being overworked.
Oh, and remember to request to have your room cleaned. They don't do it unless you ask.

"Needs an overhaul"
The reception staff were busy chatting with the chef when we arrived and it took them a while to acknowledge me, the only friendly person was a student studying archaeology. I had mailed my room request but not received a reply. I was made to feel that I was a problem customer and it took ages to sort a quiet room out.
The window was covered in moss, the waste in the shower was blocked. Basic Maintenance seems to be a problem. Last time there were a number of ceiling panels out and on the floor plus no cold water.
