"Isolation stay"

I came to the UK because of family illness and had to self isolate there before being able to go care for dad. There was a mess up with the booking on arrival. But the staff there were very helpful indeed. Maxine, the duty manager couldn’t be more helpful in an already very stressful period and situation. They made me feel welcome and took away my worries. Reception staff were second to none. 🙏 I couldn’t stay there the whole isolation period as there wasn’t any facilities to do this comfortably. No fridge, not cutlery, plates etc to eat. Lockdown meant that I had to order three times a day. I had to get an air BnB to be self sufficient in the end. I’m sure it would have been a different experience if Covid wasn’t around. So they are doing the best they can within very confusing government legislation measures. My only complaint is that of cleanliness. It was ok, not terrible. I’m not complaining just sharing the complete truth. Thank you so much for you kindness, especially to Maxine, your a diamond!

"Lovely stay,breakfast needs work"

We had a lovely stay with goods nights sleep (we do bring our own pillows as theirs are shocking quality accross the board) but is a nice clean hotel. Breakfast we were left wanting. It's a long wait for like warm offerings and cremated bacon which is stringy at best. I understand the table service however the compromise on quality is not worth the £24 for the three breakfasts. Do yourself a favour go to McDonald's accross the Car park it's hot and cheaper but it's a good bed for the night and convenient for visiting the kids at uni :0)

"Old Creaky Mattress"

I often stay in a Premier Inn and have always been very happy to recommend to others - not this time though. The outside noise at this hotel was terrible with people singing in the early hours (I can’t blame the hotel for this). However, when closing the window the air conditioning unit was even worse with the sound of water slushing around. The mattress was old and broken as each time I moved it made a loud creaky noise. I could also hear the persons above walking around. I wrote to Guest Relations with a video of the bed but because I didn’t call reception in the night or report it on leaving (there was nobody there), the ‘good night guarantee’ doesn’t apply!! This is clearly a marketing ploy and they didn’t want to know. What a shame that companies never learn it costs so much more to attract a new customer than to keep a loyal one!

"Not properly cleaned"

One of the hand sanitizer bottles was empty when I arrived. My room appeared clean but as i went around with my own alcohol wipes i found significant gunge/mess on and around the toilet and sink. I went out to dinner and upon my return BOTH bottles of hand sanitizer were empty. Breakfast was OK but i noticed that while staff sanitised tables between customers, the plastic menus were just passed from table to table. Dust on the window sills was thick enough to write in and the top of lamps had mess left behind from when the restaurant was last decorated (maybe earlier this year?). Overall very disappointed with the general care of cleaning.

Kids and I enjoyed our stay except for 1 day on Saturday when we were heading out and forgot our mask and was told off so we put it on straight away but when we came back at night I saw the same staff in the reception talking to 2 guest who is almost leaning on the front desk and with out mask on laughing and that staff doesn't seem to have any problem with it so I wonder if it is because we are of asian background that is why our treatment is different from white guests... the rest, staff in the restaurant are brilliant.
