"Avoiduntil the site is up to standard"
Prior to booking I had read some damning reviews about building work from 3 years ago I did not expect the site to still be a building site. I was aware the restaurant was closed but was promised a free continental style breakfast. As no restaurant arrived circa 10pm due to trying to find a restaurant locally. The check in staff were personable and very polite. I am registered disabled and fortunately my room was on the ground floor as the lift was out of operation. The decor is very tired and in need of upgrading. The room was very basic and very cold. Tried to use the heating controls but only cold air came out. A provided electric radiator was provided testament to the fact the heating doesn't work. The provided seat was very uncomfortable with zero padding. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly with various hairs lying on and in the bath. No shaver point. Only one set of towels provided for us both a walk to reception was needed to ask for more. The room had a stale smell. Only two T bags and a couple of UHT milk sachets. The one positive was the bed which was comfortable. The so called breakfast consisted of a few pastries, some cereal, some fruit and dispensers of coffee and hot water. This was available from 06.30 and placed on a shelf in reception. It was first come first served so if you weren't up at the crack of dawn all you had was what had been breathed on and touched by all those that had gone before. Needless to say we avoided the "free" breakfast. As I said at the beginning there are reports of building works going back 3 years I'm not sure what is taking that long. The site should be closed, the building works completed and then reopened.

"All's well that ends well."
The hotel is undergoing a massive extension to include more rooms and a new restaurant. My room was ok but curtains didn’t fit properly and the bedside table wobbled because screws were loose. I hadn't meant to stay for two nights but left my case in the car park, something I only discovered when I got to the PI in Worthing! Back to BH where I had a Plus room with no complaints. Both the young man at Worthing and Zac at BH were very helpful indeed. All's well that ended well.

"Not accessible"
Lift out of action and put on 2nd floor, had to cancel and drive home as couldn’t get up to 2nd floor unaided. No help from staff and no ground floor toilet.

"Cold and not coeliac friendly"
The air con was stuck on, so the room was freezing. Staff knew about the issue and we were instructed to turn off the air con via the trip board. They did, however, provide us with an oil filled radiator, but they took an age to warm the room.
Also if you are coeliac, you'll get nothing for breakfast while they are renovating their dining facilities, apart from an apple or banana.
