Please read the reviews for this hotel before booking. The lived experience is intolerable.
We just experienced our worst ever night's sleep in a hotel. The room was hot when we arrived, we had been allocated a 2nd floor room and as we ascended we could feel the heat building. We didn't pay attention to the fact that the sun would move to shine directly into our room and had left the curtains open. Without air conditioning, when we returned the room was 30.5 degrees. The windows only open a small gap so even as temperature outside cooled, no warmth could escape the room. We were told that other rooms had air conditioning ‘like a fridge’ but none were available. They provided a second fan which moved the hot air around. By the morning the temperature was 29 degrees. We endured a sleepless night of extreme heat.
Premiere Inn, this is a problem that so many of your guests are experiencing.
The room being 30.5°C means the hotel failed to provide the service with “reasonable care and skill” (Consumer Rights Act 2015) which applies to hotel stays in England & Wales. The room advertised a comfortable night's sleep which is a breach of contract.
We feel genuinely ill after a night in your hotel.

"Left high and dry. Literally - if you are on the west facing second floor!"
Wow. What an experience. Booked this a few months back. My combined poor experiences are very similar to other negative reviews.
Including but not limited to:
3 plugs? No air con. Two of plugs were taken up by the fans provided to cool the room. Bathroom stunk weird. The room was 30.5 degrees all night, it was unbearable. I have slept better in hotels in hotter countries and climates, but this was stifling. Two fans were provided, but even the staff recognised that they would circulate the warm air. Evening staff were supportive, yet again I was told to contact reception in the a.m, in they might be able to get an air conditioned room. Guess what. The day shift obviously work under a different set of guidelines. ZERO empathy. Comments and smirking about our plight, even stating they had the same temperature issues in their private dwellings - why would you even mention that. We paid for our room! Very disappointed. Have had great experiences in many other Premier Inns but this one is, and continues to be a nightmare scenario, definitely a blot on their marketing landscape. I'll leave you with a quote from the website - our double rooms have everything you'll need for a great night's sleep...
No it won't.
Shambolic.

"Disappointing"
Had to ask to change room as original one had a musty smell in it. Receptionist was very helpful and agreed about the smell but said it could be due to the cleaning chemicals. Hot night with only a desk fan and a window that only opened a tiny bit. But annoying that my daughter’s family room had air conditioning and we paid the same price. Shower curtain too short so had to be very careful or water came on the floor. Unhelpful and unfriendly staff in the restaurant said we might have to wait up to an hour for a table for breakfast (only three of us) as we hadn’t booked but there were loads of empty tables and one came free in a few minutes so she was just being awkward. Used to think Premier Inns were good value for money but not any more!
