West Bromwich hotel

Very nice place, quiet but also close enough to the shops and other facilities. Parking available as well as restaurant with ability of breakfast and other meals.

My room was decidedly grubby on arrival. Some dubious stains on the walls and the bathroom door, doorframe and handles were simply dirty. There is no excuse. Still not doing a daily clean after COVID while other chains do. The cleaners are not thorough. I spend a day or two a week in hotels regularly for work. Premier inn used to be the preferred hotel for business travel. Now prefer Holiday Inn.

Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly. Good location with easy access to amenities. Plenty of parking (provided you don't park next to the door like everyone else who is lazy). Table Table restaurant next door.

Stayed there on Friday night. The staff were ok, friendly enough on reception. In the restaurant/ pub though it was an all together different experience. Bar staff were sullen, couldn’t get food as kitchen was closing at 2030 then last orders were rung at 2230 and was told we have 13 minutes to drink up. I thought I’d landed back in 1987. Most of the patrons in the bar seemed to be staff enjoying time off, fair enough but the optics of them helping themselves behind the bar and walking away without ringing it up wasn’t great. I thought for a minute we were going to get a lock-in. I grew up locally and this place broke my heart. The bedroom was tired but clean. Couldn’t imagine them filming Lenny here.

The location was poor. We couldn't open the window due to traffic pollution and noise. There was no atmosphere in either the hotel or restaurant. The room was tatty but clean. Not good value compared to other places we have stayed. The restaurant was filthy and the staff were miserable. One of our drinks was forgotten and our mains took over 90mins to arrive. When they did eventually arrive, the smothered chicken was burnt to a crisp underneath. No one came to check on us to ask if everything was OK. There were drunk and noisy teenagers hanging around the carpark and we spend the entire evening worrying about our car instead of having a lovely relaxing stay. We had to keep going out to check on the car. Not an enjoyable stay! In my opinion, I would not recommend.
