"Dire Bank Holiday Break"
We picked this hotel as it was relatively close to family that we were visiting. Having been to Walsall on many occasions I was t expecting luxury, but I was expecting the usual Premier Inn quality and even this was lacking.
The check in was quick and easy and we went to our room. There was a strange aroma which my wife was certain was just shake n vac!!
The room as a whole was comfortable but the whole building is tired and messy.
Fully aware that the restaurant was being wound down to close so they can change it to a Social or something. Unfortunately, I think that the bartender who was working when we were there felt that it was closed already, as this was all we kept being told. Couldn’t tell you what the bar service was like as we never got served.
When I tried to complain to a staff member there was never anyone around, it was as if it was a hotel of customers and no staff, and of course you complain to Premier In head office and they say “You should have spoken to a staff member to resolve the problem”. Not possible if there are never staff to talk to.
The only other staff member we did see were the Breakfast team, who were truly amazing. With everything going on at the hotel and how poor it is, the manager and his waitress and kitchen staff still managed to get something right.
So breakfast 5 stars, everything else 0 stars.

"Ok if the weather's cold, no good in heat"
We stayed in a family room, 2 adults, 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son. Room was very tight, the kids argued as beds were touching so in each other's space. There was no window to open just a fixed one, there's no A/C it was like a sauna in the room. Struggled to sleep as there's no air in the room. Could do with openable windows for airing the room. Staff were friendly and the bar/restaurant staff were too. Would go back in the winter if its cold as there is heating 😫

"Bad stay"
As we walked in there was loud teenagers, as a family went through the door to the lifts they got through too. There wasn’t anyone at reception to help us check in. When we finally got to our room the teenagers was shouting and running around the hotel. Me and my friend was going out for food and wanted to mention it to reception staff but again no one was there. When we got back there was still no one there. Fast forward to bed time, the bed was comfy. Then what sounded like a heard of elephants was running up and down the hallway till the early hours then it started again at around 6am, we decided against having breakfast as we just wanted to get home so we left around 8:30 am after popping over the road to Starbucks. Really not satisfied at all and highly doubt we will stay here again

"Excellent stay here!"
We stayed here for two nights, the room was excellent apart from a spot of damage to the shower rail and a grape on the carpet underneath the table. It was a peaceful room and beds were comfy! Breakfast was excellent, staff are friendly and helpful. There is a shelf near the lifts so that you can help yourself to milk, tea coffee etc. couldn’t fault the room or restaurant.

"Good basic hotel room but automated check in is not good"
I would have given it 5 stars, but they have recently installed automated self check in machines. You have to use a QR code that is emailed to you in advance. I missed seeing a human being I could talk to. However, I started to use the machine and it was OK until it got to the point where it tells you to pickup a room card from below the screen. My daughter and I hunted around but couldn’t see any cards, so I had to press the assistance required button, but no response, so then I pressed the buzzer on the desk. A friendly receptionist appeared and apologised that there were no cards, by the time she gave us one, the machine had timed out, so she had to check me in! Another receptionist told me later that they hate this new check in system and for some reason people steal the cards! Furthermore, for some reason, the cards are in short supply.
