Dudley Town Centre hotel

We arrived in Dudley for three days primarily to visit a couple of local attractions. We wish we had read the reviews about Premier Inn, Dudley town centre before we booked! We have used Premier Inn for years at various locations but they have gone down.. down... down... to rock bottom now! We always book well in advance and due to a family funeral we had to change the dates of our original booking for an acessible Premier Plus room with wet room and change the dates for a week later. What a cock up they made of it despite changes being confirmed over the phone etc! I was nearly in tears being a wheelchair user. I normally take a travel bag with me wherever we stay (just in case) of a folding shower stool, grab handles, folding toilet surround etc but it was confirmed over the phone we would have the accessible "wet room" which had all so I did not have it with me. I won't make that mistake again! We refused to use the "AI" check in and had to keep pushing the buzzer to speak to a REAL PERSON who eventually came out! Even then we had hassle, the woman was trying to say to us that we had made it up... and eventually we settled on a normal accessible room with a wet room and received refunds for the extra Premier Plus option. As we did not know the area or what was available locally, we booked the "meal deal" for each of the three days of our stay. Oh how we regretted that decision! Considering the hotel was allegedly "fully booked" we never saw more than three people in the dining room for any of the meals we took part of during our stay! Darrell the Reception member was hard working, friendly, helpful and seriously over stretched but to have the reception staff be jack of all trades and cooking meals was a red flag. Even the chefs for both morning and evening meals changed each day and the first breakfast we had was burnt and we struggled with the meals on the second night too, cardboard flavourless pizza that I couldnt cut through. We also witnessed that nights chef drop food on the counter and pick it up with her fingers! Several food choices were unavailable. We were disallusioned so much with the whole booking and could take no more that we enjoyed a healthy meal at the Castle View pub behind the Premier Inn for the third evening and cut our losses of our prepaid meal deal. We also had to go there for the three nights for a drink as there is no bar at the Premier Inn, just bottle beer etc as part of the meal deal!

Stayed here for two nights during a business trip. Rooms were clean and as you'd expect from a premier inn. However, avoid eating here in the evenings at all costs. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The food is terrible. The same people checking in guests are cooking, and it's an absolute catastrophe. The lady serving was polite and helpful, but the whole process is shocking.

4 people in the restaurant, food took over an hour to arrive. Once the food did arrive it quickly became obvious that the standard was going to be truly appalling (like school dinners in the 80s). The nachos was the most incipid starter ever, the other starter never even arrived and had to be re ordered. The main course was a pizza that was dry, tasteless and completely soulless. The burger was like shoe leather and even though I hate fast food, I should of gone to Burger King next door. Either that or Castle View. AVOID the evening meal!

Loved the room and the food! Shoutout to Demi who cooked a fantastic breakfast! Absolutely delicious…

My wife and I spent one night (Wednesday March 11th 2026) at this hotel. This was our first visit to a Premier Inn. I have to say that we were extremely impressed. The room was not only very comfortable and well equipped, but was absolutely spotless The staff were absolutely marvellous. They were very friendly, courteous and helpful. They were a credit to the organisation
