    "Friendly staff and great room"
Well decorated, spacious and clean rooms. Friendly staff and restaurant has a good choice of evening meals. Only issue is that staffing is stretched with receptionist having to help in restaurant at times so checking in or dealing with an issue can involve a long wait.
    "Disappointing experience"
The room itself was perfectly acceptable, however.. the adjoining restaurant / bar was the worst I’ve ever experienced at a Premier Inn. Whatever you do, don’t touch the tables.. or you’ll stick to them.. The gents toilets had no hand soap which meant that the customers, bar staff and kitchen staff were unable to wash their hands properly. Hence I suffered a violent bought of diarrhea during the night. I decided not to stay the second night because of the restaurant . The levels of basic hygiene weren’t met. Unfortunately as I was attending a game fair at Ragley Hall there was no mobile reception which meant I couldn’t cancel my second night’s stay.

The staff at Rubery made our visit into something we will remember for a long time. We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary, they surprised us with some special gifts. So thankyou for going above and beyond our expectations. We use Premier Inn as my husband has some special needs, which are not apparent from the outside. He enjoys it at Premier Inn as he knows what to expect, the staff are always helpful and he can settle in without any anxiety. So thankyou for spoiling us.
    "Very good"
Hotel very good, room was very hot due to the weather but two fans were in the room. Air-conditioning in the room would be nice.
    "Less than happy here"
We've stayed here before and found it ok, but these two one-night visits last week were hardly satisfactory. FIRST STAY Accommodation was fine. Clean room etc as expected. A bit warm, but a fan was provided. At check-in the desk wasn't manned. The person had to be summoned from the restaurant. It seems that job covers both areas. We had booked a meal deal. Fine - but on ordering there were no pizzas, no pies, no steaks. Simply not good enough. We were told that the deliveries were to blame. Sorry, but that doesn't wash. No apology offered by server. I thought it a bit bizarre that because I have a cooked cheese allergy I needed to be given freshly hand-washed cutlery. Nice thought, but ???? Breakfast was OK, and to be fair the poached eggs were lovely. But no margarine spread. We had to make do with butter. Generally, service was very slow. Restaurant was quiet with perhaps just 4 or 5 tables in use with 2 servers on duty. SECOND STAY Accommodation, all as above. We did buy a meal deal having discussed our options. Still no pizzas, but there were steaks and pies. So a bit better there. One server on duty, plus the reception person who was seen taking orders at the tables, and again service was slow. I had to ask for our order to be taken, but being fair he was a pleasant chap! Breakfast was ok. No plain yogurt was disappointing, and still no margarine spread and very little butter on display. Stocking up also not good. WOULD I STAY AGAIN? Surprisingly, yes I probably would, because of it's closeness to M5. But it would depend on the price on offer. There it is. Pay your money, take your choice! And yes, I really am a retired hotel manager of a 4* hotel on the edge of Cumbria / Yorkshire.
