Birmingham South (Longbridge Station) hotel

On the plus side the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Justine. They looked after our luggage and helped carry bags. Hotel was quiet but scaffolding covered half the window and there were no net curtains. We were on the top floor which was very warm and the bathroom extractor fan was not working. Midday check out is helpful and price is very reasonable. We have stayed here before and would again, train station is only a 5 mins walk.

Location of the hotel is great. Few shops to have a mooch around! We didn't eat our main meal at the beefeater attached to the hotel as we found the menu quite limited and not great value for money. There is a hungry horse around the back which we couldn't fault. We had breakfast in the beefeater the following morning and this was ok. The room was clean, if not a bit dated but for what we paid we can't moan! We travelled as a family of 4 and had a double bed and 2 camp beds. This was a very tight squeeze and we were all a bit on top of each other. The purpose of our stay was due to visiting Cadbury world the following day which was only a 10 minute drive away.

Room had a bit of ware and tare,tatty walls bent lampshades ect. Staff very helpful and friendly had to add another night on to stay,as said staff took care i was in the same room and I would not have to pack my stuff and move. A pleasant stay in the end.

The staff are lovely and very helpful. Dany and Justine in reception were particularly helpful and kind. The rooms are in need of repair and redecoration, some things are broken and the rooms are looking tired. I was disappointed with the beds (I had to change rooms half way through my stay) Premier Inn pride themselves on their comfortable mattresses but in both the rooms I stayed in the mattresses were collapsed and in desperate need of changing. I had back pain every day , from the poor mattresses.

We usually have a great experience and although in whole the stay was ok we had a really frustrating check in. We were already allocated our room which we always request in advance and the staff are great at allocating our room for us and is always appreciated as we use this hotel on a regular basis so very familiar with the rooms. On this occasion check in was very frustrating because there was some issue with the room too be cleaned and our room was at on the list too he cleaned apparently. We had an paid event we had too attend for my daughter but due too a 35 minute delay in check in we had too rush too get too our event. Once we checked into our room we found the room too be unclean in certain parts for example there was a dirty cup USED with a dirty tea spoon with food on it. Then the bathroom had hair on the bath it was apparent that who ever cleaned that room just changed the bedding and nothing else was cleaned so was very very disappointed as we where told that the room was been cleaned. I made 2 phone calls too reception but just rang out. We went downstairs and spoke too the man on reception about this issue but apparently the Manager was on holiday. The lovely man apologised and I reassured him that it was not his fault and he wasn’t on shift when they lie was all happening I just wanted too being the issue too his attention. Nevertheless he was lovely and thank you too him for leaving a few extra towels in our room as I requested a few. We are back too stay at the hotel this week so hope we don’t have the same issues. Everything just seemed so slow and no real urgency too check us in. Nevertheless we wanted the room we requested and paid for so was happy too wait but 35 minutes was unacceptable.
