Birmingham Oldbury (M5, Jct2) hotel

I’ve noticed on a couple of occasions where members of staff in the restaurant have been partaking in gossiping (and not discreetly either) considering I was able to hear other staff member names being mentioned who work in the adjacent hotel. Whilst in the adjacent building a person I believe to be the manager of the hotel appeared very overfamiliar and joined at the hip one would say with a female member of staff, I have witnessed this on multiple occasions so if I have seen it other guests may have seen it too! To conclude, no professionalism in this establishment whatsoever!!!

My rating doesnt do the hotel justice really But we were there to sleep......... The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful. The resturant was clean ,bright and fresh , food was nice enough, We stayed in one of the new premier plus rooms above the resturant, Rm 302,first impressions the room was a good size, nice and clean a nice comfortable bed. the bathroom was clean ,lovely shower ,but no shaver sockets!, Our main and only gripe really was the air circulation fan, Its pretty much above the bed ,quite low and very very noisy, it was clicking on and off all night, everytime it kicked in it woke us up with a start. Got up in the morning more tired than when we went to bed, a real shame really ,

Not clean and bathroom extractor fan not working. Noisy Saturday night, reception not available. Very poor stay. Complaint to Customer services but no resolution.

Just spent one night in this premier inn and had a twin room with me and my 13 year old child. Mixed review tbh! Welcoming staff cannot fault the staff. Room lovely and clean (strong smell of bleach but better than being dirty!). Free car park a bonus and free WiFi. Great black out blinds and quiet at night. The restaurant is brand new and spotless and very modern. The staff were lovely in the restaurant but still finding their feet maybe. However, the restaurant was freezing! The food is very basic (think ping ping microwave Wetherspoons). Simple burger with about 13 fries is nearly £16. I had the spicy chicken burger. My child had the larger children’s burger which was undercooked and pink in the middle, and was replaced. I think it was happy hour but our bill didn’t reflect this. I had two drinks and my child had a hot chocolate and it came to £37. In the morning the set up was a buffet which the hot food seemed limited and you were given a side plate so I don’t think we were supposed to put too much in a plate! Overall not a bad stay maybe…..

I have stayed here a few times over the years. the reception staff were lovely and friendly and ready to help . The room was amazing could see the cleaning was to a high standard credit to the housekeeping team. The hotel is quiet even though it is close to a busy road. Had a great night sleep. Was able to have relaxing evening after busy days. Great value for money. Will definitely stay again
